These five points??

I was reading something in an old thread dated way back in 2003, and since it is dormant now, I couldn't respond. I wanted to "cut n' paste" it and get y'alls opinions on it.

5 Things This Calvinist Believes

1. All men Can Freely Make Choices
2. God does not force any person to do something that person doesn’t want to do.
3. People are in Hell not because of God but because of their own unbelief.
4. God is fair.
5. Evangelism is Necessary.

Now, for the sake of keeping this thread maker anonomous, I will not post their name. Being a free will believing CHRISTian, I don't think I can find one fault with any of these five things this Calvinist Brother has stated!! What do y'all think????

i am I AM's!!

If that what he/she states that they believe, why should anyone claim that they do not?
I do think they could have better stated that they are a Christian and not called themselves a Calvinist. But, maybe they were only a Calvinist.

While I make no claim to being a Calvinist and I am totally opposed to hyper Calvinism because of its extreme, but these 5 points are the other extreme. I do think that at least number 4 I would throw out completely. I do not believe that God acts out of fairness. At least not what men hold as fairness.
Salvation at no time is based on God being fair. It is totally based on mercy and the sovereignty of God.
An example is Israel. He chose Israel over every other nation, but He did not force people on an individual bases to follow Him. Choosing Israel was not fair as men hold fairness, but it was a sovereign choice mixed with freedom to accept His offer.

When one deviates on any one point of the original five points, he ceases to be a calvinist. The basic premise of calvinism is the absolute Sovereignty of God, If one piece of the puzzle fails to fit, the puzzle is incomplete.

BTW....whats your fixation with Calvinism? Are you on some type of quest to convert the calvinists ? You never shut up about this.

Someone must have had a big o'bowl of "Hater O's" this morning, eh? I was just wanting EVERYONE's opinion on a Calvinist's beliefs on these topics, that's all. I wasn't trying to "goad" anyone Brother, just asking for opinions, not "ad hominems".

The net total of your posts not just consisting of the thumbs-up sign would be under 1,000.

And still his posting are more theologically correct than yours.

Notice, it's two of the most outspoken Calvinists who are complaining over what another Calvinists said, even though you are agreeing with what they said. I guess being a grouch is the sixth point of Calvinism.

If you don't like what is being said on this thread, don't read it. Even you should be able to figure this out!

OH, I forgot, you must be the one assigned to quantum patrol today. So nice to know someone is looking out for me.

How bout the anti calvinist patrol...... I guess I can name that team but Im going to start asking; Why? Is it that the Catholics are extinct so you have to poach out the Reformed Believers.....a lot harder to do it to us because of our Baptistic affiliations.

How bout you try to find some Charismatics & run them down like Boars in the Wood!

EWF:

I "try" not to "run down" anyone who claims Christ, even my Catholic brothers and friends. It is a simple observation on these boards, that almost every discussion will eventually turn to one relating to Cal and Non-Cal. Quite simply, each one is convinced of their position. I actually see very few "haters" on either side of the fence. Yes there are occasionally "mean spirited" posts, from EVERYONE, but they are soon redeemed.

Brother I give up.....seriously. Yeald no, but I give up attempting a discourse. Do you realize how insulting these things are. Its as if ....oh forget it. But know this, I wont speak for every Calvinist but there is a contention that in your hearts is a well worn hatred for my theological type & sometimes that causes us to lash out. Now if you bother to examine all the Topic's titles you might begin to understand. Perhaps we will all just remove ourselves from BB & move to a thoroughly Reformed Site where we dont have to fight for our right to exist. And that is the bottom line.

Brother (and friend) I and confidently also others (of my persuasion) hate no one. Yes, passions get out of hand at times, but no one "hates" another. I (speaking only for myself) I DO NOT "HATE" your theology. I just find myself in disagreement with it. Is that not possible, for me to disagree and yet not hate? What say you? Do you HATE my theology, (or me) being that it is different than yours. ( I think not.....certainly hope not). :)
