    From the article:

For those of us who believe life begins at conception - there is nothing good in that sentence. Destroyed, thrown away, leftovers.

Salty, I even believe that Obama has been appointed by God to be our Prez...

For such a time as this...

Remember he also put evil kings in power in the OT to teach his people things.

The question now is, "What is God trying to tell the Christians in America?"
What lessons must we learn over the next 4 yrs?

And are we willing to learn these lessons, or will be sentenced to wondering in the wilderness for 40 yrs?

For one thing we need to stop comparing ourselves from among ourselves........ In stead we could look in the mirror of God's word and ask Him for help and healing in applying it to our heart and life.

We could repent for our failure to acknowledge Him in all things and to trust him to direct our paths.

We could be more pleasant and glorifying if we could be more thankful for what we DO have instead of living to complain or talk about what we don't.

    ........... and He's still working on me!:godisgood:

edited to add: I think God would rather us give higher priority to spreading the gospel..... and to trust and commit to him regarding our concerns over the affairs of this secular world.

It is best not to live a dual life. We should give both equal attention as both effect the gospel.

Rev, I appreciate and agree with what I think you mean ...... but not how it seems to play out in my personal life and witness:

When I see it as 'both equal attention'......then I have already divided it in my mind. If I put politics first...... then it matters not what I believe with others in discussion, because the chief goal of politics is to win support for one's own views and prove those views are best...... but it pushes away almost as many as choose to differ. But, if I keep Jesus and the gospel first, I place the truth of the scriptures first........ then perhaps I'm much better prepared in my spirit to share the gospel truths against the false assumptions held by those bewitched by lies in this fallen world.

If Jesus changes the heart, then a yielded heart will listen to the truth of the Scriptures and the Spirit of God will draw that person into all truth. But if I succeed in winning a political discussion, and the only truth presented was based solely upon evidence of history or comparisons between policies, I've done little of permanant or eternal good by making politics my focus. If I win an argument then the losser resents both me and my arguement.... and is unlikely to change his own position and becomes more stubbornly set. If I lose an arguement then he goes away more certain than ever that his ideas are right..... and I've done little to nothing to shine the light of truth on the ashes of this world system whereby he might find the narrow path that Jesus trod. And isn't this our purpose in this world on behalf of him who saved us? And isn't this our purpose to confront and challenge one another when we see flawed or undisciplined thinking ..... and to encourage each other to stand fast in our labors in the truth which God has revealed in His Son?

Few people...... as we see on this discussion board..... really seek out truth. They see it more as a crap game, and whoever gets the best of the discussion in their mind .....is the winner. However, whether the lies are upheld or the truth revealed, some seem less sensitive to examing themselves in scripture light and weed out the leaven within of their own hyprocrisy. Political idealogies wont save any of us..... but a person who seeks God first, will consider with gravity, the flawed organizations and proposals of man and those areas where God and faith in God is denied through the assumptions of false science, false philosophy, false socialogy, false policies, false belief systems, false utopian dreams, false institutions of man's own making, false trust in man's own power to control........ and find they are battling the false principals on which this world builds and compounds its errors. Those principals are spiritual.... and to win a spiritual battle means warfare in the spirit. One by one.... if people really come to a relationship with Jesus Christ which goes deeper than head knowledge..... then God can open their heart to the truth.

There are politics and powers based upon principals of truth and good and trust in God, and there are politics and powers based upon principals of lies and deceitfulness and evil. If God changes the heart to know truth, the principals change; then one by one, people are changed, and one by one they have influence on the world in which they live out the principals of truth..... but only as much as they continue to walk according to God's word and make it their priority to keep his face ever before them to guide them.

So, then, we concern ourselves with dividing that which is true from that which is false in all things regarding our living and concerns with this world...... but our priority is always to bring glory to God and reveal him to the world.

Yes, God is in charge. I have always seen the election of BO as a parallel to the election of King Saul. They got what they wanted and it looked good on the outside, but...

Yes, Israel wanted a King. They got Saul. Bad news. Then they got David, and Solomon, and a series of kings good and bad.... and a divided kingdom: Then a people in exile where they increased in knowledge of world systems, idolatries, and occult influences and started mingaling with their own religious practices and laws until thouroughly corrupted, except for a very few, it was time for the Advent of the Savior and they knew him not.

I think of those times and now and wonder.... Is it possible that we have neither heeded or learned the lessons of history that we keep repeating the old mistakes expecting a change in outcome? Is it possible so many of us who think we have faith, really have only a head knowledge and are corrupted by the false science, false traditions and superstitions, and occult influences so that we do not know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, truth and deceit? If it were within the plan of God to have Jesus walk among us today.......... would we and could we recognize him? .... And since the Book says that wont happen until after tribulation..... how many among us will be drawn to false messiahs and christs?

Because of all our idolatries, and shedding of innocent blood, and harlotries........ I strongly believe America is coming under intensity of judgement by a righteous and holy God and will use whatever nations, and rulers, and plagues as suit him until she either submits and repents and turns from the wickedness within..... or casts her lot with the goat nations.

Exactly. On this I have to agree. With America's rejection of everything sacred, how can we escape judgment? I do believe, however, that God will see His people through this time if we remain faithful. I still believe there are some sheep left who don't turn into the wrong gate.
