date me, but what Christian group (trio or quartet) would you say most closely mirrors the style/harmony of the secular group The Lettermen?

I grew up loving their songs. Their voices are as smooth as velvet and their songs were all love songs.

To my knowledge, The Lettermen's "Greatest Hit" was probably their medley "Going Out of My Head / You're Just Too Good to be True," that was released in early 1968.

Told you "This'll REALLY" Date Me, didn't I???? [IMG] [IMG]

Now that was a format! Remember fast forward on a reel-to-reel? It was better than running 331/3 on 45. Don't you just miss skipping records. How about songs being cut off on track 2 and continued on Track 3.

Why, ktn4eg, what Christian group sounds like the Lettermen? Dove Brothers north of the Mason-Dixon line?? :D

I like them and i'm only 16, but I also have very good music taste and do not listen to what most teens do.

ktn, there is a fairly new gospel trio called "Three Bridges" that would get my vote.

I have always liked the Lettermen.

I thought 'Sealed with a Kiss' was made Top Ten by Gary Lewis and the Playboys?

That would also probably be a 'Association' sounding group...

    How about 'Love Song'?

Why? Who did you have in mind?

I'm not really "into" SGM (not that I'm necessarily against it--I do like a very few songs in that genre). Don Moen's "God Will Make a Way" would probably be a good example of the style of music that I prefer.

With that in mind, I again submit my question: "What Christian group (trio/quartet) would you say most closely mirrors the STYLE and harmony of the group 'The Lettermen'?"

I agree about 'God Will Make A Way', though that, to me, is Worship Music not CCM...

In that genre I also like 'Heal Me O Lord', and from Shalom Jerusalem, 'In Your Presence'...

Of course to clear the foyer and get church started I like stuff like 'Stand Up and Give Him the Praise', also on Shalom Jerusalem...

That's genre I define as prelimienary Praise...
