    Joshua,

I started to read one of your sermons, but it's late, so I won't read the whole thing.

I gotta say this. You're a heck of a writer! Very easy to read. A joy, really.

It could almost persuade me to be a liberal.

Gladly I am one of the "very elect!" ;)

I hope you'll forgive my little jab. [IMG]

    ROFL...

Thanks for the compliment Aaron. I'm always glad to get feedback of any kind on my sermons. I'll be posting the ones from the past two Sundays soon.

So Aaron, have I won you over to liberalism yet?

(In truth, some of those sermons are downright conservative - but don't tell anyone, they'll take away my Free Granola card. :D )

Now THISis scary! Joshua on the BB winning converts!

Josh - won't you lose your good standing as the resident left-wing extremist if you start making converts like the right-wing do regularly? [IMG]

Well, you know I'm only the extreme here. My Methodist and Presbyterian colleagues consider me somewhat conservative.

I guess that's what happens when you get a baptist liberal. You get a liberal who evangelizes. ;)

    Joshua,

I guess if Aaron is soliciting conversion I should also take a shot at it. Not really to be converted (I'm comfortable being conservative ;) ), but to check into some well written liberal theology to see what you guys are thinking. I've got to confess that I'm not too open to liberal theology, though, as it would weaken the edifice of my conservative politics and conservative moral philosophy, such as they are.

    Rev. Joshua,

The link on your profile for georgiaclergy.org takes me to a site for a Real Estate company specializing in condominiums.
I think something has gone awry.

Ah...now the truth comes out! Joshua is not really a left wing-liberal, evangelical, Baptist, minister! Today we learn that he's actually a sneaky real estate broker hocking condos! I'll bet there are subliminal messages somewhere in those "sermons" pushing time shares in Florida. Just as I suspected. He's not a preacher at all! He's a salesman! Oh, Joshua...by the way, do you have anything in a three-bedroom facing the beach on St. George Island?

That's really odd. The site has been down for several months as the board debates (endlessly) the merits of 501(c)(3) vx. 501(c)(4) status. We do still own the domain name, so it shouldn't be forwarding anywhere else. I'll look into it.

As for the last couple sermons, I should have those up by tomorrow.

    Joshua

    Russell,

The last three I've preached (June 30, July 7, and July 21 - I was at the beach for July 14 [IMG] ) are up.

    Here's the link:
    Joshua's Sermons

    Thanks for asking.

    Joshua

(Note, these are my actual manuscripts. I don't generally proof them again before putting them up. If you catch an error (I'm particularly guilty of homophonic spelling when I'm in a hurry) please shoot me an e-mail.

Why would anyone want to pawn their condo? I didn't even know you could pawn real estate!

hock: Slang. tr.v. hocked, hock·ing, hocks. 1. To pawn. --hock n. 1. The state of being pawned. 2. The state of being in debt.

I suspect the word you are looking for is "hawking."

hawk: v. hawked, hawk·ing, hawks. --intr. 1. To peddle goods aggressively, especially by calling out. American Heritage Dictionary.

    DocCas,

Good dictionary work there Doc. When you are talking about any type of real estate sales in Florida, I guess it could be "hawking" or "hocking". I used to work for the Florida Division of Land Sales & Condominiums investigating swamp land sales and condo complaints. When Joshua started talking about 501, I started having flashbacks. By the way Doc, what's another word for "thesaurus"? :D
