AMEN Susan, well said. It seems to me if you want tickle ears and be popular don't use Chick Tracts.

Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

By using the Inspired Preserved Scripture (found in the AV KJV) it acts as a 'lamp' to expose where we stand and a 'light' as a path to getting right with God.

People need to come to repentance and to do this they must realize their sin. Chick tracks get to the point and they are easy to understand use lots and lots of scripture and they don't dance around the issue.

Lay it out like it is, don't dance around the issues. Jesus pointed out sin straight out and He is to be our example.

Concerning the matter that Chick tracts promote the KJV; what's wrong with that!! I have read many versions but I got rid of them because they add or take away words from the bible. We are told NOT to add or take away words from the Holy Bible. I can't list any examples now because I don't have any versions besides the KJV.
As for as Chick tracts being anti-this& that, what does God say about the subject? We are not to pray to Mary. The only way to the Father is thru and by Jesus Christ!! He alone is our mediator. As far as priests are concerned: we are told in the bible to call no one Father, only our heavenly Father. And another thing while I'm at it, priests CANNOT forgive our sins[ at confession ].
As for Chick tracts being anti-gay, all I can say is, 'PRAISE THE LORD', that someone has the guts to speak out against homosexuality.
We as Christians need to stop hiding under a bushel and tell a lost and dying world that sin will take you farther than you want to go! There is a Hell and people need to realize that it's not one long party where you'll live it up with all your pals. I appreciate Jack Chick warning people about this awful place. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to go there. ;)

I have never found a translation which did not alter, add, or subtract from Textus Receptus, the manuscripts of which do not agree entirely with each other, or any other manuscripts. The KJV, for example, adds the words "without a cause" into Matthew 5:22 and in Romans 3:4 changes "May it not be" to "God forbid." This 'KJVO' is slopbucket theology.

my biggest concern with tracts is that they reduce the message of Scripture to 2-3 teeny pages.
Over the last 2 years I have been using the chronological method of Bible Study which takes up to 1 year to complete in some cases.
While this may seem a long time the fact is that in today's world most people discount Creation, Genesis etc, thus losing the basic story of sin's entrance into the world and our enmity with God.
Merely asking a person if he is a sinner is a far cry from getting one to realize he is God's enemy.
Also....dare I say it? I know at one point in my life tracts were the cowards way of for witnessing.
Nothing beats one on one witnessing and intensive Bible story...especially not a tract with nothing but pictures and a sensational story line.

Gee, how did we ever get along without Chick tracts?

I've never used one other than just for my own amusement and God's allowed me to be a part of His plan to lead twelve people to Him over the years.

There are plenty of other ways to faithfully share the Gospel without attacking gays or Catholics.

Why is grace such a bad word around here?

Never said they were the only way to spread the Gospel. The best way is using God's Perfect Word (For the english speaking world that would be the AV KJV) . But a Chick tract is a very good way to spread the Gospel. And they all show using the scriptures that it is Grace that saves.

I have never seen a Chick tract say anything bad about Catholics. I've seen them expose the lies the RCC tries to fill us up with. I've seen them say that salvation by works is not possible. If he hated Catholics so much, he probably wouldn't say anything & let them all go to hell. What are we supposed to do about the RCC, stand outside & applaud ? Shake the popes hand & thank him ? I thank God Chick has the spiritual conviction to risk offending some people & tell people they are being lied to.

Praise the Lord for Chick tracts.

The Living Water tracts are excellent. They lead you through the A-B-C's of becoming a Christian. They also have bottled water with the Living water on it saying "Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst." - Jesus. It also has the A-B-C's on it. I have a question, have any of you ever passed out the Jesus Video? This is a wonderful tool for sharing the Gospel.

Fantastic thread folks. However, I am looking at this thread going to a third page. If and when it does, I will close it.

My first question would be what is "God's Perfect Word" in a non-english speaking world?
My second question is: Has the Chick tracts been translated into other languages, and if so what do THEY say is "God Perfect Word"? Would a non-english speaking person have to learn english to recieve the 'perfect word", or is their "perfect word" one translated from the KJV.

BTW...this is my first official post here. How'd I do? :D

In the english language that is the AV KJV 1611. In other languages it is a translation taken from the Textus Receptus. I haven't looked into other languages too deeply as I speak only english.

If you want to find out what bible was translated from the TR for a certain language try contacting the author of New Age Bible Versions, the website is AV Publications.

I am certain that Chick Publications may also know and you could perhaps email them as well. Chick
