Takes on the entire sports world for that matter.

'Get that son of a b***h off the field!':
Calls for BOYCOTTS of NFL teams whose players refuse to stand for the National Anthem

Perhaps the boldest move of his Presidency. Patriotism is something missing from our society and missing from Churches influenced by society instead of influencing society. But this is going to get ugly before it gets better.

LOL! Boldest move of his presidency?!! Ha ha ha ha.

Sheesh, get some loftier expectations from what you want out of the President of the United States.

He also canceled a meet and greet with the NBA championship Golden State Warriors because Stephan Curry was slow to accept the invitation. Bold move there Trump!

This is disappointing. Mindless patriotism results in fascism.
When we have a systemic racist society, not supporting that racism is more patriotic than those who mindlessly support an evil system.

I support the 1st Amendment and the right to free speech. Not standing in support of systemic racism is an American right that our President should support rather than ridicule.

Secondly, how does a supposed Christian tweet out such angry comments?

    This is so very dissapointing.

Would he have the courage to say that to their face. Nope. Does anyone really believe he is a Christian? Only those that are lying to themselves.

As long as they're on their own time, I say let them protest all they like.

But once they're on the team's time, yeah, they need to be benched and we need to stop giving money to those teams until they do.

Enforced patriotism is not authentic, just as enforced religiosity is not authentic.

This has always struck me as much ado about next to nothing. I don't care if my doctor or dentist stands during the national anthem, but I'm supposed to care about a pro athlete who's playing a GAME?

Well, they don't play the national anthem before the doctor examines you or the dentist does a root canal.

"Systematic racism", in the NFL? You've gotta be kidding me, it's more than seventy percent black while blacks are less than fifteen percent of the population.

Regardless, Trump's tweet (and Goodall's awful response to it) has elevated this into an issue for sure - both sides have been boycotting the NFL, the right because of Kappy and his wannabes, the left because Kappy is still inactive. It's going to be hard for people to just leave the stadium with all the corporate-sponsored sky boxes and all - I'm not going to SafeCo this year, Michael Bennett may be extremely talented but don't want to see a multi-millionaire "protesting" the "racist" nation that put him there.

I don't think MennoSota was referring to the NFL. I think he's referring to the United States as a whole.

That being said, slaves worked the fields while whites ran the plantation. Your argument that 70% of the workers are black does not mean that systemic racism doesn't exist. How many black owners are there in the NFL? How many black head coaches? How many black general managers? How many black CEO's and upper managers in the NFL?

The outcry against guys like Kaepernick is actually a racist outcry against a black man who had the courage to call out injustice in our society.

I say God bless Trump. Patriotism is based in Biblical doctrine (Romans 13:7). No surprise it's waning along with the Church in America. And if some can trash our country during the anthem, others can speak out against them, including governing officials. Free speech is very broad, and frankly these athletes need to know they're not adored by everyone.

Wow. Redefinitions of racism don't normally amaze me, but this one's a doozy.

Patriotism does not lead to socialism, not even the German style.

    Where is racism redefined?

    Here's the verse you used.

"Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed."

When is respect owed to racism? When is honor owed to racism?

Do you have any idea how black men are treated, just because they are black? It is different than white men are treated, just for being white. It is an injustice in our society and it needs to be addressed, even if it makes you terribly uncomfortable.

Glad Trump said it. Needs to be said.

"I'm protesting unfair racial inequality. I mean, I only make tens of millions of dollars by running on grass with a ball. How unfair is that?! Wait, you want me to stand for the anthem of the nation that made that possible? Oh heck no! Ima sit on this bench."

Black men commit the most crime. That's fact. You ain't gotta like it, but it's true.

It ain't because they're black though, skin color don't have anything to do with it. It's because those boys in those communities grow up with no daddies to set them straight, and set a good work ethic. They only know what they grow up with, drug dealing, stealing, etc. It happens to folks of any color when there's a father missing. It causes high crime rates.

The injustice here is not police enforcing law. It's that folks think it's ok to break the law if you're black and that police ought let 'em go.

Poverty is the main reason for crime. There are more white criminals than black. You ain't gonna like it, but that's a fact.
Second, the black church is more Godly than the white church. They have had to fight against racist white Christians for 300 years.
The injustice is not the rule of law. The injustice is that white police officers will assume white men are innocent while assuming black men are guilty. That is not equitable.
If a black man drives down the road in a mercedes, people assume he's a drug dealer. The cops follow him. If a white man drives down the road in a mercedes, people assume he earned it. The cops ignore him.
    Guess what. That is racism!

Only in number, not by percentages. 25% of adult African-Americans have a felony convictions while only 6.5% of non-African-Americans have a felony conviction.

That is an unprovable assertion. Some are. Some aren't.

    I didn't.

    I didn't.

    I didn't.

Evidence is your friend. Assumption is your enemy. :)

Zaac? Hilarious that you compare black slaves of over 150 years ago to today's NFL stars.

Yeah, there's a few black head coaches, excellent ones at that, can't think of any team owners but guess Roger G is the head slave master. Maybe the NFL boycott will free these slaves again, sheesh.

Go ahead and run into the ground for all I care but he may beat you to it. You're not even black.

It's actually a reaction to one of the most privileged members of our society whining about something he has never experienced.

He should just shut up and play.

Oops, but he's not really good enough, is he.

    Do you know Kaepernick's upbringing?

Having money does not make you most privileged.

    You are looking silly.
