Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Thursday, "we are committed to pass tax reform,” he said. “We want to get this done by the August recess.”

"I would say that we will probably start going very, very strongly for the big tax cuts and tax reform," President Trump told reporters Friday. "That will be next."

George W. Bush got his tax cuts passed by June of his first year in office, and Reagan got his tax cuts passed by August in his first year in office. The difference is that the tax cut plan was talked about in great detail during the campaigns and both administrations made it a priority to get it done quickly.

So what is Trump's tax reform plan? Where is it? Why hasn't it been talked about?

Don't know the plan, but they've always said it would be August before it became a priority. Just in time for the new budget.

But I think you already know that.

And democrats have said they will oppose any and all legislation while Trump is president. Maybe some will risk the wrath of their leadership to actually support tax reform. We'll see.

If what was proposed about taxes in the Trumpcare bill, then it will be a windfall for the rich and increases for the middle class and poor.

If the tax cuts in the health care bill were implemented it would not be a "windfall", it would be a roll back to 2009 levels.
