Trump: U.S. to withdraw from Paris climate pact, calls it 'unfair' for America

So we cede the leadership of the environment to China and Europe. They will continue with no input from the US and that will have negative impacts on numerous corporations. Now China and Europe will tell us what automobile standards auto makers have to meet. If we neglect to change to their regulations we will be in deep doo-doo.

Politics and stupidity win out over prudent steps.

How will we benefit from this decision?

 

Cheaper manufacturing costs.

 

Not if our products do not meet their environmental standards. No overseas sales if we do not do so. And now, with this political decision, we have no say in how those standards are set. China must be smiling broadly. It doesn't matter how inexpensively you can manufacture an item if you can't sell it.

 

LOL. I guess China and India will have to either make cars that adhere to those standards or buy from another Paris Climate Country like Germany or Japan. I know Volkswagen folks had to cheat to get theirs through.

 

It wasn't just unfair, it was illegal.

 

DUH! It's not just automobiles we are talking about ... and we will have no input into what is decided.

 

So they can buy those products from them too.

 

Trump should use his vast wealth to finance a luxury cruise through the North West Passage. He couldn't fail to be convinced of the reality of global warming.

 

This agreement was an illegal endrun from the word go.
We should return the obligation of approving treaties to the Senate, where it belongs.

Policy made by the Congress is accountable to voters; policy made by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change isn’t."

Guess he's already bored with his Florida retreat as it will be underwater in due course thanks in part to him.

 

So I guess we'll see a mass exodus from the coasts from the people rich enough to live there ? I doubt it.

Cool. When I see the rich selling their nice beach homes and moving to the mountains, and coastal property values plummet I'll maybe worry.
