    The country appears to be splitting into two hemispheres before our eyes: There are those places where public officials are allowing science to guide their decisions; states like that are cautiously beginning to relax their lockdowns and finding no spike in illness as they do it. Those are the free states.

    And then there’s the other half of the country, the places where you’re glad you don’t live right now. In those places, power-drunk politicians crow about sciencebut resolutely ignore its findings.

    They don’t read studies. They don’t care what the data say.

    We should split the nation into 2 new entities. One to be run by a strict adherence to the U.S. Constitution and inhabited by hard working people. The other to be ruled by those who want a free wheeling type of country with no borders and no constitution to impede their ability to do anything they want to do. Enough already, let's just split amicably and be done with it.

    Just go all the way back to to 1776 when divided between the Loyalists and the Rebels.

    Other than a few miscreants on the far right and far left, I don’t see much chance for violence. Certainly no more than the 60s when I was a kid.

    Violence won’t improve the situation. As a Christian I certainly don’t won’t to see any violence.

    Arkansas has done okay in this pandemic but other states have seen power grabs.

    The Dems are signaling that this pandemic is not serious by their list of demands. Some are saying that the Dems will force Biden out of the nomination.

    The pandemic is forcing layoffs at hospitals. Something is wrong that politicians so dictated an overblown medical response. If we are locked down until next year, the Democrats might still lose the election but the economy will be in a total depression.

    The shutdown is being protested throughout the free world, as you know. Do you think that the lines in this cold civil war are based on class? It seems to me that the lower classes are bearing the cost of this prolonged experiment to flatten the curve. White suburban women are the Karens once again.

    That divide is impossible to heal anywhere in the world.

    That divide exists in all states, even the most blue or the most red states.
