You are as wrong as wrong can be.

A perfectly good fight you say. An organized bout in a proper venue with a referee might be considered a "perfectly good fight" --not what I witnessed.

    Your values are skewed.

You need to explain yourself with clarity.

This verse runs counter to your world view:

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is --his good and perfect will. (Ro. 12:2)

I understand this took place in the PRC, not the ROC. Calling the People's Police or whatever Beijing calls they street cops, isn't always the best move.

Let’s be honest, you wander into a fight in a country and a culture you do not entirely know and you see the natives observing but not doing anything to break up that fight and it is becoming violent. So here you are, ill prepared ,blundering in there, out of your element, breaking up a fight. Then you want us to all cheer?!? Right... bright move.

I have been nothing but honest about this. Female staff members only were in the middle of this in narrow quarters.

Time was of the essence. I did what I thought was necessary and it turned out okay.

You need to read my post 24 that quotes Scripture directly contrary to your worldly opinion. You need to apologize for your sinful conduct in this thread. You maintain that you are concerned for my physical safety yet post the most hateful language you can muster on a Christian discussion board. Your gait in the Christian life is shaky.

Nothing funnier than a big mouth Christian or as dangerous. Tell you what, if you want to save the world, break up fights etc.,come to NJ and I will take you to Newark. There you could find fights galore... and if you survive a day, then I will be more than happy to take you to Paterson then Camden. For you, I will be honored to do it ... for free even. Let’s see how your Christian virtue holds up with the crack heads and heroin addicts. But word of advice, make sure your funeral arrangements are prepared in advance.

Guys get in fights sometimes. It wouldn't be grounds for dismissal in most cases except for some statutes written by women for women.

It certainly is. The gloves are heavy, causing great damage; there are too many rounds in the pros, making for more damage; the only way to win (unlike MMA) is by hitting and hurting your opponent, preferably causing a concussion. Many pro boxers end up like Muhammed Ali, their brains heavily damaged by all the hits.

MMA can be and more often than not it is brutal, maybe not as badly as other martial arts but brutal indeed.

My daughter is "Sarah the Monster" and has been injured in just about every match she has had.

I can't watch and see my baby girl get pounded - even when she wins she gets bruised and injured.

Sarah the Monster, eh? I would never have guessed! Pro or amateur?

You are right, MMA can be brutal, though in my opinion not as bad as boxing. The redeeming feature of MMA for me is the grappling, since I'm a grappler from way back. The punching can be brutal, but again, not as brutal as boxing, since the gloves are much lighter. Many more have been killed in boxing than in MMA.

Having said that, what MMA often lacks is the respect shown for other human beings in the traditional martial arts, which I advocate and teach. Also, the traditional arts are designed to produce self defense fighters, so in most schools there are provisions to prevent injury (though I was seriously injured in my younger days, kicked by a very young instructor).

She is a pro, was an amateur for many years. She ranks very high in her present weight class.

    Her forte is Brazilian Jujitsu.

Grappling: Yes, Sarah always looks to take her opponent down for an arm bar tap out.

She has sent at least one young lady to the hospital, she recovered but I believe she quit the profession.

Sarah is approaching 40 years old and teaches Martial Arts in San Jose, CA.

I easily found her record: impressive, with almost all wins coming from submissions.

Ah, yes, Brazilian jujutsu (the more usual Romanization), aka judo influenced by catch-as-catch-can wrestling, as learned by Maeda (who taught the first Gracie) in his tours of the US. ;)
