Clean the plants, install better procedures, and open the plants back up. No reason for these plants to stay closed long at all. Also, the food supply chain is a whole lot larger than just Tyson. Very irresponsible of Tyson to place that ad. Maybe they were trying to drive up the prices of their products.

Did I not read some time back that Tyson was a big Clinton donor?!
If true, this "announcement" seems to be in keeping with the dem strategy of ensuring continuing panic while "the iron is hot"!

Either way, another illustration of the dangers of shutting down economies.

Watched news report on Sweden. Interviewed their medical chief who said the virus is not going away so the country needs the best way forward and that is to not shut everything down, but allow low risk people to get sick and develop herd immunity naturally, the way we are designed by God to recover from illness and lock away the vulnerable. Deal with the virus in a sustainable way. That leaves their country not in chaotic continual destruction.

If the virus is always going to be here, and you artificially block its ability to infect, then the lockdowns must continue forever and there is no way forward out of the mess unless an uncertain vaccine is found which also produces the same herd immunity people can naturally acquire. So a country like Norway and Finland next to Sweden can never go back to a happy prosperous normal life. The reporter traveled into Sweden by Finland and said the atmosphere in Finland was creepy, oppressive and dead while life in Sweden was refreshingly normal.

Don't worry, if there is one thing the government is going to insure it will be the food supply. Hungry citizens in the streets with their pitchforks is not something the higher ups want to ever see.

True, BUT, the Ds just want the power; long bread lines & soup kitchens are no problem for them.
The Rs want a thriving economy with CHOICES.

“President Donald Trump plans to order meat-processing plants to remain open as the nation confronts growing food-supply disruptions from the coronavirus outbreak, a person familiar with the matter said.

Trump plans to use the Defense Production Act to order the companies to stay open as critical infrastructure, and the government will provide additional protective gear for employees as well as guidance, according to the person.“

Tyson has been busted for using illegals before. I don't think much of them. The plant in Logansport, Indiana, probably was started by Wilson but I think that they are out of business.

Bill Gates says that the lockdown needs to go for two more years so I guess the government will have to provide us with meat. At first we just had to flatten the curve but now we have to stay locked down until there are no more cases of Chinese flu.
