Would you characterize your years of attending church and walking the aisle during invitations as "seeking God?"

Because Truth is important. And giving all the glory to God is also important.

Yes, your mischaracterization of Particular Redemption has a degree of craziness to it.

    "Crazy" to you, perhaps.

18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

20Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Now here is a radical thought, what if your wrong? What if you get up there and the recording angel says to you, JDF you got it all wrong! I hope not cause I is also Doctrines of Grace With some slight alterations, there it is... you (I) could be quite incorrect in theological stance... what then? Personally I believe Christ has paid for my sins and foybals all ready and I’m OK... I tries my best to be right with God!

Now if I was an insufferable pain in the neck who always had to prove that I’m right and the other camp is wrong (and I ain’t saying you) then maybe I should spend time in pergatory with those pain in the neck RC’s. Just kidding!

I haven't heard him say anything that would cause me to question his salvation.

I am not mischaracterizing anything. I have given you quotes from leading Calvinists who admit the logical implications of Calvinism.
Explain to me why Sovereign God willed Adam to fall, but told him not to.
I also respect the Calvinists who fully own the doctrine of double predestination. It is laughable to see a Calvinist try to avoid double predestination. In doing so, all they do is DOUBLE speak.

Actually, that isn't what that passage says at all, nor is it "nonsense". It's the Word of God.

Your application of the passage is nonsense. Another example of putting words in the mouth of another. It would take a Calvinist such as yourself to even think I was calling the Scripture nonsense.

OK. I'll bite: How is it "nonsense" to quote a passage of scripture that says the preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish to someone who just said that the Gospel is "crazy"?

    Actually, I didn't. I quoted you verbatim.

However, since you brought it up, I did see that you implied that I said one must be a Calvinist in order to be saved. It that the kind of thing you meant by "putting words in the mouth of another"?

    0

Well, since it was in response to a quoted passage of scripture, what else should we think it was referring to?

I'm assuming Uncle Billy didn't drop dead in the parking lot on his way home. If he did not then today was not his day. It might be the next time he's in church or the next time after that or the next 100 times after that. It might not even be in a church when Uncle Billy "calls upon the name of the Lord".

It would be nice to tell the folks how Uncle Billy came to Jesus at the tent meeting with Brother Leadbelly from the First Antioch Grace Baptist Tabernacle. It'd be nice but not necessary. It would be wrongly minded to assume God wasn't up to the task of redeeming one of His. Likewise it would be wrong minded to think Uncle Billy was stifling the voice of the Holy Ghost.

If God has promised to redeem His elect we have no say in the timing of it. The time might be sitting with you in a duck blind or all by himself at a bus stop. That's not our business. Be faithful to our calling and love Uncle Billy enough to be persistent in sharing the Gospel.

    Of course you are.

Fallible men do not determine Truth. God's word does that.

Because, for the umpteenth time, God has a decretal will and a permissive will. God did not "will" Adam to fall. Adam didn't even "will" Adam to fall. It was a consequence of his own disobedience. God did not "will" Adam to fall. God "allowed" Adam to fall as a consequence of his disobedience.

I don't respect any false thing. Double Predestination is a Satanic lie straight out of the pit of hell. Fallen man did not have to be predestined to hell. He was ALREADY destined to hell because of his sin.

Yes, I will speak the Truth double, or triple, or 10 times until you finally acknowledge that Salvation is all of God, none of me. "Salvation is of the LORD."

"God has a decretal will and a permissive will."
So when it comes to salvation does he have a permissive will or simply a decretal will?

Yes, I will speak the Truth double, or triple, or 10 times until you finally acknowledge that Salvation is all of God, none of me. "Salvation is of the LORD."
God made the rules. He sentenced the unredeemed sinner to Hell. According to your above statement, that sentence to Hell combined with His predetermination not to save man, predestined man to Hell. You can rail against the term, but you have to own the concept.

He finishes it in verse 12 and 13.

And He predetermined not to save others. You are playing word games to attempt to avoid an inconvenient truth.

Nor have I, just his insistence that he is right....right. The Catholics did that very thing also. Mom, may she Rest In Peace, always would say that the RCC is the one true religion. Further you can’t get into heaven without being a RC.

If uncle Billy is not one of the "elect", according to some, he can listen to a MILLION messages and "altar calls", but he CANNOT be saved, because God has not so enabled him! This is the "gospel" according to "Calvinists/Reformed", but THANK God, Not according to the Holy Bible!

He cannot because he will not. He is happy in his sin and rebellion. You can't blame God for Uncle Billy's sin.
