................Kasic points out that what makes proposals to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine particularly unfair is that it targets a specific medium, namely radio. "The fact that this regulation would go after, specifically, radio shows just how politically motivated it is because, in essence, they're going after conservatives by the sheer fact that conservatives have dominated talk radio over the past couple decades," she adds.......

The bullying and harassment of conservatives begins, how long before this automatically evolves into being christians becasue they are conseravtive, how long until it's only christians.

Faulty logic, as not all Christians are conservative.

Yes, some are only "Christian" by name. And, they will be like Moab, celebrating the the persecution.

Amazing how many ways people like you find to question another member's salvation without breaking the rules.

I would worry more about the Pharisees than I would Moab. The Pharisees thought they were following God without knowing their true spiritual nature.

I didn't question anyone's salvation on this board. But, you know. If you throw a rock into a pack of dogs the one who yelps the loudest....well.

Again, you are so cleaver.

I have mixed feeling about the Fairness Doctrine. But, after listening to Rush today for about ten minutes I hope the Congress finds a way to remove him and his ilk for the public airwaves. After all, the public airwaves should not be polluted with his type of trash.

Air America spewed plenty of bed wetting "trash" but no one wanted to listen. What ever happened to free speech? Liberals talk about free speech but it only applies to them.

By trash do you mean truth? There is more truth in one episode of his show than a week of the msm. At least he lets you know his biases up front and doesn't pretend to be "fair and balanced." Yes he is conceited, arrogant, bullying, and irritating in lots of ways, but he is also speaking the truth.

The libs long for the "Good Old Days" when they had the media in their pocket and the big 3 networks owned a monopoly on all news. Sorry but those days are gone forever. Between Sirius, XM, and the Internet people have a choice today. We don't have to be force fed the Pravda party line anymore, we can think for ourselves. "Fairness" doctrine or not a single party will never control our information again like they did just 30 years ago.

The airwaves are a public commodity and belong to everyone not just the right-wing fringe!

And that statement is relevant to this discussion how? Liberals have the same opportunity to create radio programs as conservatives. If people wanted to listen to and support the trash that comes out of the left Air America would be flourishing. Air America is evidence of the failure of the left ideas. And libs cannot stand it. So they want to squelch conservative free speech. And they do not have the integrity to admit it.

So, it's a public commodity. Even more the reason for free speech to be protected. But, liberals can't seem to understand that. Seems there is a brain dis-connect when it comes to liberals actually understand what the second amendment applies to everyone, even those who would have the audacity to disagree with them.

The Pharisees denied the deity of Christ. I think Moab is a beautiful comparison, and am only angry that I didn't think of it, first.

(Moab, Utah, is an excellent mountain biking destination.)

I guess freedom of speech means nothing to socialists.

Wow. So much for the First Amendment. That's scary.

That way has been tried. Didn't work out so well.

The first amendment argument is faulty. There IS freedom of speech. There is NO guarantee that the public airwaves be provided to anyone as a forum. This applies equally to both sides of this argument. Broadcasters are supposed to act in the public interest in exchange for using our spectrum.

What? If you don't like what Rush or Hannity is saying then change the dial to Al Frakenstine if you can find him. And true, it is all our spectrum and therefore should be free. The fairness doctrine is nothing but a cheap ploy by those in power to shut down the opposition. Welcome comrades to the new airwaves of the United States where we only allow you to hear what we want you to hear. The rest of you be damed.
