The Justice Department has opened an investigation into decades of alleged sexual abuse by Roman Catholic priests in Pennsylvania, the first time victim advocates say federal prosecutors have conducted a major examination into the nationwide scandal.

Federal prosecutors subpoenaed all eight Catholic dioceses in the state seeking years of documents for crimes ranging from child pornography possession to transporting children across state lines and reassigning predator priests to other states to conceal their conduct, said a source with knowledge of the investigation.

A Pennsylvania grand jury report released in August found that more than 300 priests had abused more than 1,000 children over seven decades. It also found that church leaders — including Washington Cardinal Donald W. Wuerl, who led the Pittsburgh Diocese for almost 20 years and whose resignation Pope Francis accepted last week — had covered up for offenders.

It's the crossing of state lines that's got the Feds involved. Interstate travel to avoid prosecution has been a Federal crime since at least the 1930s.

Also, Trump issued an Executive Order on human rights abuse and reportedly told Pope Francis personally that he was going to issue the order that could lead to the seizure of Vatican property in the USA as I understand it. There is evidence that the RCC recruited homosexual seminarians from Latin America and brought them to Chicago and other cities using special clearances from the US government. This may escalate to a federal RICO case as Buffalo and other cities are involved in the corruption. Also, the RCC gets something like $300,000,000 annually in federal contracts.

Here is the link to the Executive Order:

Friday it was announced that CBS is looking into the death of a priest in Buffalo two years ago that was ruled a suicide at the time but was a murder because the priest was too handicapped physically to have shot himself as the police assumed. The corruption in Buffalo is widespread, and the priest was going to the police the next day but he died that night.

Secondly, people in Rome and the Vatican are hoping that Pope Francis will resign. It is cleared that he covered up abuse in Buenos Aires and that he is covering up abuse now. Archbishop Vigano released another letter Friday, again showing the Pope's failure to act.

This crisis is considered the greatest crisis in the Vatican in 500 years:
