    I'm quoting you here to introduce a discussion (I don't want to discuss vaccines vs shots on Scarlett's thread). But I am not sure you are correct here:

    Regarding the polio vaccine, the CDC indicates it is not permanent. Here is another article:

    "The question therefore arises: What is the duration of immunity, assuming that polio vaccination has been effective? In no disease is there permanent immunity after original vaccination."

    How Good Is the Polio Vaccine?

    I know the Chickenpox vaccine lasts 10 to 20 years and the Hepatitis vaccine up to 20 years.

    If you are willing, I am interested in sources defining shots vs vaccines based on vaccines providing permanent immunity.
