President Barack Obama will be speaking to a gloomy electorate when he delivers his State of the Union address on Tuesday.

Twice as many voters believe the country is weaker, rather than stronger, since Obama took office. In addition, by a 52-40 percent margin voters think the worst is yet to come on the economy. And more than eight in 10 disagree with the president’s notion that the government doesn’t have a spending problem.

If the earth can not bear up under the rule of one qualified only for slavery, how much less the U.S.? (Prov. 30:22)

We need to take a serious look in the mirror. We have allowed the politicians into high places with a mandate from special interest groups. Lobbying is a real lucrative business.

We say we do not approve of our leadership, yet we allow them eight years of havoc. We are reaping according to what we have sown. Our real problem is: amorality. It has eaten our core values and subverted our society.

    The remedy is still: Jesus.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.
