Often when labels are attached, the side of which is giving the narrative assigns the label.

For example, to the Americans, the war of succession from British rule was called the War of Independence. But to the British, they took it as the Revolutionary war.

To the Yankee's the conflict of the North and South was known as the Civil war, but, to the great South, it was known as the war of Northern aggression.

In matters of concerning salvation, the Scriptures present three basic facts concerning redemption.
    1) one is purchased off the market of slaves
    2) one is removed from the ability to ever again be sold into slavery
    3) one is presented as heir, adopted child
(If one would like to see something on this, you might desire to read what Walvoord wrote here)

What then does this have to do with independence or revolution?

    Simply this:
To some, there is innate independence in which all humankind may successfully plead for salvation and as such then obliges God to grant the a request. These seem to look upon salvation as a war of independence in which they struggle against God and eventually He wins them over through conviction, confession, and profession.

To others, there is this innate matter of revolution. That humankind are not just opposed to the light, but violently set in battle array against all truth from God, and as such have absolutely no inclination nor understanding of the things of God. Such consider all things of Scripture as foolishness. Therefore, salvation is as a revolution in which salvation is established by the resolve of God who takes those of His choosing to be His own child.

So, which is your own perspective?
