No, good politics is punishing the evildoer and praising those who do well. Not making deals and compromises with the lives and liberties of citizens.

    You're a traitor.

    Aaron,
I disagree with most everything CTB says, but he's not a traitor. That's way over the top.

If we didn't have the debt, we wouldn't need to raise the ceiling. If we concentrated on paying down the debt, we wouldn't need to raise the ceiling.

It's "dumb" to not address spending.

Obama is not going to compromise on anything. The Democrats want to spend more money and have no intentions of abolishing any wasteful programs or putting the bureaucrats on a diet.

As for Buffett, he has to be the most selfish person in America. He says what he says because he knows that the Fed is printing money as fast as possible and that has pushed the stock market even higher, which makes Buffett even richer. There is no one on Wall Street speaking against government spending and Fed printing because they are getting rich from Obama. Buffett is getting especially rich from Obama because he has been able to stop the pipeline from Canada so that his railroads can haul the oil from them.

Buffett is a big phony and doesn't care who knows it.

I agree with everything you said, but add this. The Republicans in leadership positions of the present Congress are pathetic. They are nothing more than watered down Democrats. It is my sincere hope that the Republicans wake up and nominate a true conservative next time, not only for President, but for those Congressional leadership positions. A Rand Paul/Demint ticket would be a good start.

it's totally politics on both sides, you know.
somebody tied up approval or disapproval of Obamacare with whatever moves to address economics.
no matter which way the Republicans turn, they're "it".
    that's politics.
