I'm a little confused. If you believe I've borne false witness against some one please point it out.

    Why were you not eligible?

    Were you found sinning?
Were you deemed unworthy to perform a command of the Lord because of something you did?

Who cast this judgment of ineligibility?
Who is the one that hindered you from being obedient?

Last question....do you think I've asked legitimate questions?

I was not a member of the OLD Regular Baptist Church!

Only the first question was legitimate! I answered it!

The arrogance and snotty remarks by some of those responding who think obedience to the command of Jesus Christ, regarding the washing of a brother or sisters feet, is appalling and disgusting! It is this arrogance in part that I believe Jesus Christ was addressing when HE humbled Himself!

    I agree there.

But i also think many who practice it, do such in a "works" mentality. Much like not getting a tattoo - simply because they see an OT law which seemingly opposes all tattoos.

It's a view which ignores context.

As for feeling a spiritual height during that time, I don't discount it at all. But that shouldn't be enough to validate the practice.

I once attended a Roman Catholic service, and was completely unfamiliar with the liturgical style. For that reason, I was extra sensitive to the meaning in the liturgy. It was honestly one of the most humbling, spiritual experiences I've ever had.

But not because of the liturgy, and not because of washing feet...but because of a mind set on Christ

BAG BALM.....I mean it. It contains scads of lanolin so it moisturizes & softens skin. I use it because I have nuropathy from diabetes & it really helps. also good to slather it on a few days prior to foot-washing....after a shower of course. LOL!
