    That is not true, he commands us to be holy, yet are we able to be holy?

    He commanded the Israelites to obey the law of God, yet can they do it? No.

    He commands many things that we cannot do, so why? Pauls says that the law was given to show us our transgressions against it.

    Can God call us to do something that we cannot do? Yes, and He is just in doing so. The fact that He still saves some is an incredible act of grace.

    Job said it also, "Can we accpet good from God and not evil as well?" Your problem is you don't like where it takes you.

    In love,

    Hi sturgman; [IMG]
    A quote from you;

    #1 Just because you or I are not holy doesn't mean it's impossible.
    #2 I believe some did.Like the rich man who came to Christ and admitted he had kept the Law from birth.Christ told him if he would be perfect to go and sell all that he had. Another is Job before his testing.
    All things are possible with God.What makes you think they aren't :confused:

    Not according to Romans 3.

    He didn't "admit" that he had--he "claimed" that he had. Obviously, he did not "love his neighbour as himself" or he wouldn't have had such a problem with what Christ told him to do.

    I agree with you here. It is only through the intervention of God that we are able to do what He commands. We cannot do what ought to do on our own (or in our natural condition).
