So, let me get this straight, mc,

Every time you see Pipe's pic you run down to the store, open a package of Red Man or Beechnut and smell it?

Or do you keep a supply on hand to open and enjoy the aroma?

If the former, do they mind yer not opening the tobacco and not purchasing it?

If the latter, how long you had that package?

How long you had the habit? Have you tried kicking this habit?

silly Diggin! It's all in my imagination. My dad used to smoke a pipe and I can still smell it as clear as day. I'm sure it smells much better this way than it did in person. It's been years and years and years ago.

    It was stated:
Your statement is ambiguous to say the least. It is not clear if you are saying whether it is a drug or not. I only clarified that it is a drug, having assumed (whether rightly or wrongly) that the statement made was that alcohol was not labeled as a drug.

Progress? What is progress? Yeah, I think we did.

You see, underlying my OP was the hope of getting folks to lay off the wine for awhile... (pun intended!) It seemed to work... people are even more civil than they were 5 days ago. Don't you think...

You see.. I am no psychologist, but I knew if everyone would stand up for something (like coffee) when it seemed to be getting attacked, we could regain our civility. sneaky huh?

Everyone left the arguments over wine behind in order to defend their favorite drink!

You can settle any fight over a cup-a-joe.

    You may be right, tim.

But in the end, since one is not winning them over using the Word of God, they return to the wine eventually.

The pig that is washed returns to its mire.

A nice Christian would read carefully before calling another Christian a liar. You should try some coffee. In measured doses it induces a mild euphoria, conducive to the spirit of fellowship :love2:

Hey Tim! I don't need coffee... [IMG]

Diggin: Is that from a new translation? My KJV says a dog returns to his own vomit.

Pipedude: Yes, BBer's HAVE defended nicotine. Their excuse? Spurgeon smoked cigars.... [IMG]

So, I'm sittin here trying to decide if it's too early to start a pot of coffee and

    1) I'm wondering if Diggin really did just call all us coffee drinkers pigs

    2) I'm reading about dogs and vomit -- somehow pigs and mire seems much easier on the old tummy

    mcdir,

No, I did not call the cofree drinkers pigs. tim had said he got the people from defending wine by opening this thread. I said they would return to their wine just a a pig will return to a mire
