    These are crazy times.

There are days that I live off of leftover cold pizza and a big bag of that cheap lettuce stuff that is already washed and chopped and kinda tastes like wax. And when no one is looking, I eat it with the hand that is not on the computer mouse, like the lettuce pieces are potato chips, instead of as a salad on a plate with a fork. And wash it down with too much tea instead of water.

Other days I do better. Especially when I have to. It is a good thing that I am on foot and that most days I must walk at least a couple miles a day, just to carry back enough water for the tea, and the pizza and bag of lettuce. God knows what he is doing with me. LOL. No matter what, I at least get some exercise.

What are you doing to be healthy, if anything? How can we encourage each other? Is there an issue that you need accountability with?

I don't drink enough water. It does not help that I need to pay for it and carry it home. The only affordable safe drinking water is a 1/2 mile away from me. I get lazy. Sometimes I only carry enough back to make the tea that I am addicted to, which is STUPID because tea is a diuretic and makes me MORE dehydrated not less.

I watched a video sermon on the prodigal son, and the pastor defined prodigal living and said that squandering our BODIES is a form of squandering. When I exist in a constant state of dehydration, I am squandering a resource that has been placed in my protection. I need to do better.

Is there ONE thing that YOU need to work on and that maybe might be easier with some accountability?

It is noontime in my time zone and I have only drank about 8 oz of water, but at least 4 times that much of tea. Weak tea. Does that count that it was weak? Pitiful that I try and justify it as weak tea. It is not the point.

I just forced myself to swill another 8 oz of water, before I hit "create thread". That is the power of accountability.

I stay happy and worry less each single day. I boost my immune system by taking fruits and veggies naturally. As much as possible I do stay home and enjoy the day even how boring it maybe. I see to it that I sleep early. I am struggling to do exercises since I am doing a lot of things - this is something I need to improve. :D

    An interesting thread.

Sorry to hear about your water issues, kathleenmariekg. Is there anyone who can help you with your water deliveries?

I need to increase my hydration also and drink too much tea so understand where you're coming from.

We're all in the same boat ATM and can only pray for each other.

I'm new here but there seems to be a lot of Trolls. Is this normal?

I am new, too. I believe this forum is big enough for those engaged in less uplifting agendas and people with more pure agendas. Let's create an alternative to the kind of threads that we don't want to participate in. I think there are people that read the forum and never register or post. There are a growing number of isolated people looking for fellowship and accountability. Let's create what we want to see exist. Start uplifting threads, even if you are new.

I just drank 8 oz of water, when I saw the thread pop up.

I cannot afford water delivery. I am really in a tight financial situation right now. I recently moved across the country for covid-related issues and am just SOOO grateful. The Lord knows what I NEED and also what I can bear. When I must bear things, it create a heart in me for service. I am uncomfortable at times, but I feel entirely on track and I am willing to watch the process in a state of complete trust.

Covid is not an accident or a mistake. The Lord allowed this and is using it to further his agenda. He has a plan for each of us that are posting in this thread. Will we be ready? This time can sprout us and transform us and open our eyes to things we never saw before. There are so many lessons we can learn from nature about the blessings and transformative power of darkness and winter. Let us prepare to burst out of our cocoons as beautiful butterflies, when this is over. And in the meantime, let us see the stars that can only be seen during the blackest nights. And let us trust that manna will rain from the heavens to sustain us and grow our faith.

I have a vitamin regimen that I take - fish oil, folic acid, vitamin C, D3, "Osteo Biflex," "Centrum multivitamin,", and "Garlique"- wash it all down with a shot of "Metamucil." I also grind 3 tablespoons of chia seeds or sometimes flax seeds along with a teaspoon full of ground peppercorns with a heaping teaspoon full of turmeric powder. I mix those ingredients with a cup of very cold water and gulp down that horrible mix as quickly as I safely can.

My joints don't ache any more like they did when I was in my 40s. I am in my 60s now and feel better than I did back in those days, although I did have a mild heart attack in 2016. I now have a stent in my LAD artery. My wife once chided me for having a heart attack in spite of all the supplements I take, but my feeling is that the heart attack could have happened at an earlier age and been more severe than it was were it not for the vitamin supplements I take. When I die and get to heaven, I will need to ask if my vitamin regimen delayed my arrival at the pearly gates.

Some thing that do not extend our lives do increase the QUALITY of our lives.

When possible, I think real food that includes the desired vitamins is better than a pill. So little American medical research is devoted to nutrition because it cannot be patented and used for profit.

I think tuna, despite the mercury, is an important food to eat. I believe that deficiencies are more harmful than poisons.

Some years back, a group of environmentalists in Louisiana came to see the head of the state Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, a young woman appointed by Governor Foster. They brought her a string of fish which they said were contaminated. She thanked them for the fish, took them home, cooked them and ate them.

My Poison of choice is coffee rather than tea. My wife and I installed a 5 stage water filtration system several years back, it was cheaper than buying purified water like we did for so many years. We've been grateful for it ever since.

If I was living on my own, my meals would probably be less healthy, but my wife is very good to me. We eat very healthy meals, rarely buy prepared foods. We also like to garden and grow some of our own fruit.

As to my vice. I'm doing better believe it or not my mom and I growing up would together drink a 50 cup pot of coffee every day. Not sure how many cups I drank for so many years :Unsure. These days I try to limit myself to 2-3 cups in a day. Most of the time I do well with this, but occasionally I creep up to 4-5 cups :oops:

Even though I drink my coffee, I usually manage 5-6 10 oz cups of water usually hot water. I learned to drink hot water from my wife who is Chinese.

I'm working on making myself do something productive each day, even if it's small. It might be vaccuming or dusting, or it might be going through my clothes and seeing which ones I don't need anymore. Something.
I'm trying to go on walks more often. I like walking with my brother. I'm also trying to eat healthy, but.....right now I have a problem where I spend money on doordash because I have no time to cook. So to keep myself from doing that, I allow myself to eat less-than-healthy food from home. I'm trying to find a way out of this.

There are a number of people on here who don't know how to act. I've put a few people on ignore. It helps that we can block out people when we need to.

I agree. I haven't yet felt the need yet to block anyone, but who knows what the future holds. :Rolleyes

As a tool though it can be quite useful especially for those battling difficulties and needing to ignore some that may not be helpful. Sometimes I believe in our zeal to do good, we offend and bring harm. Hopefully it is without intent, but perhaps sometimes it is. Hopefully there is none of that here.

Define "try". If you mean being more concerned about what I eat, then I am trying. If you mean acting on that concern, then I may not be trying hard enough.

One thing we have done in the past when, my wife and I were busy is to cook, bake or otherwise prepare more than enough for a meal. The excess we would separate as one person meals that could be quickly heated at a later time. We've done this with many types of meals. There are also some foods that can spoil quickly and we've preserved some of these, dehydrated some, and froze it. We haven't tried vacuum sealing which may be a good option as well.

It is possible in any regards to eat more healthy even when we are busy. We also have a place nearby that uses quality ingredients preparing healthy frozen meals they make themselves. Don't know if you have anything like that near you.

With a little creativity there is usually a way to stay healthy if you desire to.

I got throw off course by Thanksgiving. I am so grateful, but despite my gratefulness, I realize that I was eating past celebration and binging to attempt to fill an empty space that was prodded by the holiday.

I am deficient in some area that humans were designed to have filled in a way that is not accessible to me right now. The binging is information. I took note, looked through my options, and realize that I don't have access to a remedy, yet. I am human; God sustains me past all human understanding; I am still human.

I am working my way back to better, but not to excellent, and I am trying to prepare for similar upcoming days in a way that will put less strain on my body.

And I am focusing on my walk and relationship with God, because the more I work on that, the more the empty space will shrink smaller. It won't go away: I am human and was designed to have those human needs that are unmet right now. The empty space can shrink, though.

This period alone and with unmet needs is critical at the same time it is uncomfortable. As I lose my trust in things that are still accessible to so many Americans, I am forced to rely on God more and more, and my faith grows more and more. The time in the desert dependent on manna was critical to the former slaves; my time in the desert dependent on manna that arrives just in time is critical for me to move out of my PTSD slave mentality.

I am at peace in general with how things are progressing, but I ate a lot of unhealthy food and in amounts that made it even more unhealthy. Sometimes failure provides information. I am suffering from a deficiency. Note taken.

Wonder how many others have shared your experience this holiday in particular.

God certainly has a way of filling the emptiness if we let him. Sometimes also finding other activities to do can help take your mind off of troubles. Sometimes simply sharing with others can lessen the load, more challenging of course to do right now, but not impossible. With God we have that wonderful promise that with God nothing is impossible.

Hope your day continues to improve with the process of time.

I am trying to be more consistent in my exercise routine - 3 days a week on my Bowflex for strength conditioning and 3 days a week on my treadmill for cardiovascular conditioning, alternating Monday - Saturday.

I need to drink more water and less tea. This is so stupid. I drink tea, I get thirsty and drink more tea, which makes me even more thirsty, and I drink even more tea.
