What is known about Barak Obama? Not much; what is known is frightening. While in Hawaii he was mentored by communist poet Frank Davis.

After Obama finished law school he settled in Chicago becoming:

    1. a “community organizer”??,
    2. a bosom buddy [notwithstanding denials] of unrepentant terrorist William Ayers,
    3. involved in shady financial deals with convicted felon Tony Resko,
    4. an instructor and lawyer and for the radical leftist group ACORN,
    5. and a product of the corrupt Daly political machine.

Columnist Thomas Sowell has called Obama "a danger of the first magnitude in the White House." A poor resume for a president. More disturbing may be what isn’t known.

His speech is nuanced [that is, “clouded” or “colored”, not necessarily true]. From his primary campaign we know that his philosophy is Marxist; not surprising considering his association with Ayers; Davis; ACORN; and his mentor of 20 years, Marxist pastor Jeremiah Wright.

    What about character?

At Saddleback Church Forum [August], commenting on the worst American failure, he quoted Matthew 25:40 [“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”]. However, until he decided to run for president he gave only 1% of his income to charity.

Obama is viciously pro abortion. On two or more occasions he voted in the Illinois Senate against a law requiring doctors to provide medical care to children who survive abortion. At Saddleback he refused to state when life began, saying that was above his pay grade.

Most blacks that I know have great respect, even reverence, for their grandmothers. Obama, in his initial defense of Wright, not only threw his grandmother from the train, he threw her under it, calling her a racist.

Obama is viciously pro abortion and Marxist. Teenagers and children are already being trained to sing the praises of the “Dear Leader” [just like in North Korea, China, and Nazi Germany]. Premature you say! ACORN is working hard to steal the election for Obama!

You ask what do we know about Obama then list enough bullet points to write a book. A better question is what more do you need to know?

Let me ask a question, what do we know about Palin? There were people here willing to toss her the keys to the White House the day John presented her as his running mate. What makes her so quickly accepted over Obama?

Red Herring...this is not about Palin.

The facts are not easy to take, are they?

For any Christian the fact that Governor Palin is devoutly pro life whereas Obama is viciously pro abortion [or should I say pro infanticide based on his vote in the Illinois Senate] should be sufficient.

What we do know about Governor Palin is that she served as a mayor of a town and as governor of Alaska with an 80% approval rating. She has rebated to the taxpayers of Alaska about $1200. She was instrumental in the development of a $40 billion pipeline for natural gas from Alaska to the lower 48.

I have shown the limited accomplishments of Obama in the post; an association with shady characters and unsavory organizations. The leftist national media spent more time in one week investigating Joe the Plumber than they have spent on the entire career of Obama. Does this portend the future: anyone who asks an embarrassing question of this Marxist will be persecuted if not prosecuted. But as webdog said this not about Palin, she is not running for president, Obama is.

We know that Obama is all for world government same as McCain. This takes the abortion issue out of the hands of Americans and puts it the hands of one worlders who believe abortion is a tool of population control.

Vote for either and you'll get the same. One world government with one world rules.

We know from his book that he "did a little blow", referring to cocaine. I would like to know how extensive his cocaine use was and if he ever went into rehab to beat it.

BTW, that appears to be an admission to a felony criminal act. That usually doesn't look very good on a resume.

But what the hey! We're just talking about the Presidency of the United States, what's the big deal about "doing a little blow"?

    peace to you:praying:

    1. Sowell is hardly an impartial commentator.

    2. "Nuanced" doesn't mean what you think it does.

    3. If Obama is a Marxist, he's a terrible one.

    4. "Pro-choice" != "pro-abortion". The first means one supports women having the opportunity to choose to have an abortion. The second means that one actively encourages them to do so. You may view both positions as being reprehensible, but there is a difference between them.

So what more do you want to know about him? His shoe size?

And as for the leftist national media, they have more than extensively covered Obama which is how you know most of what you listed. You don't recall seeing Jeremiah Wright yelling God *** America every time you turned on the tube. The problem is all that is now old news. How quickly we forget.

    Barack Hussein Obama II
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama

Barack Hussein Obama II ( born August 4, 1961) is the junior United States Senator from Illinois and presidential nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2008 United States presidential election.

Obama graduated with a B.A. from Columbia in 1983, then worked for a year at the Business International Corporation[13] and then at the New York Public Interest Research Group.[14][15]

After four years in New York City, Obama moved to Chicago, where he was hired as director of Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Greater Roseland (Roseland, West Pullman, and Riverdale) on Chicago's far South Side, and worked there for three years from June 1985 to May 1988.[14][16] During his three years as the DCP's director, its staff grew from one to thirteen and its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000, with accomplishments including helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization in Altgeld Gardens.[17] Obama also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.[18] In mid-1988, he traveled for the first time to Europe for three weeks and then for five weeks in Kenya, where he met many of his Kenyan relatives for the first time.[19]

Obama entered Harvard Law School in late 1988. At the end of his first year, he was selected, based on his grades and a writing competition, as an editor of the Harvard Law Review.[20] In February 1990, in his second year, he was elected president of the Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the Law Review's staff of eighty editors.[21] Obama's election as the first black president of the Law Review was widely reported and followed by several long, detailed profiles.[21] During his summers, he returned to Chicago where he worked as a summer associate at the law firms of Sidley & Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter in 1990.[22] After graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude[23][24] from Harvard in 1991, he returned to Chicago.[20]

Obama directed Illinois' Project Vote from April to October 1992, a voter registration drive with a staff of ten and seven hundred volunteers; it achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African-Americans in the state, and led to Crain's Chicago Business naming Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be.[26][27]

Beginning in 1992, Obama taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School for twelve years, being first classified as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996, and then as a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004.[28]

He also, in 1993, joined Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a twelve attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development, where he was an associate for three years from 1993 to 1996, then of counsel from 1996 to 2004, with his law license becoming inactive in 2002.[14][29][30]
Obama was a founding member of the board of directors of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife, Michelle, became the founding executive director of Public Allies Chicago in early 1993.[14][31] He served from 1993 to 2002 on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, which in 1985 had been the first foundation to fund the Developing Communities Project, and also from 1994 to 2002 on the board of directors of The Joyce Foundation.[14] Obama served on the board of directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995–2002, as founding president and chairman of the board of directors from 1995–1999.[14] He also served on the board of directors of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Center for Neighborhood Technology, and the Lugenia Burns Hope Center.[14]
    State legislator, 1997–2004
Main article: Illinois Senate career of Barack Obama
Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996, succeeding State Senator Alice Palmer as Senator from Illinois' 13th District, which then spanned Chicago South Side neighborhoods from Hyde Park-Kenwood south to South Shore and west to Chicago Lawn.[32] Once elected, Obama gained bipartisan support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws.[33] He sponsored a law increasing tax credits for low-income workers, negotiated welfare reform, and promoted increased subsidies for childcare.[34] In 2001, as co-chairman of the bipartisan Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, Obama supported Republican Governor Ryan's payday loan regulations and predatory mortgage lending regulations aimed at averting home foreclosures.[35]
Obama was reelected to the Illinois Senate in 1998, and again in 2002.[36] In 2000, he lost a Democratic primary run for the U.S. House of Representatives to four-term incumbent Bobby Rush by a margin of two to one.[37][38]
In January 2003, Obama became chairman of the Illinois Senate's Health and Human Services Committee when Democrats, after a decade in the minority, regained a majority.[39] He sponsored and led unanimous, bipartisan passage of legislation to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they detained and legislation making Illinois the first state to mandate videotaping of homicide interrogations.[34][40] During his 2004 general election campaign for U.S. Senate, police representatives credited Obama for his active engagement with police organizations in enacting death penalty reforms.[41] Obama resigned from the Illinois Senate in November 2004 following his election to the US Senate.[42]

    U.S. Senator, from 2005
Main article: United States Senate career of Barack Obama
Obama was sworn in as a senator on January 4, 2005.[54] Obama was the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history, and the third to have been popularly elected.[55] He is the only Senate member of the Congressional Black Caucus.[56] CQ Weekly, a nonpartisan publication, characterized him as a "loyal Democrat" based on analysis of all Senate votes in 2005–2007, and the National Journal ranked him as the "most liberal" senator based on an assessment of selected votes during 2007. In 2005 he was ranked sixteenth, and in 2006 he was ranked tenth.[57][58] In 2008, he was ranked by Congress.org as the eleventh most powerful Senator.[59]
    Legislation
See also: List of bills sponsored by Barack Obama in the United States Senate

As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he helped create legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During the 110th Congress, he helped create legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel.

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discussing the Coburn–Obama Transparency Act.[60]
Obama voted in favor of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and cosponsored the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act.[61] In September 2006, Obama supported a related bill, the Secure Fence Act.[62] Obama introduced two initiatives bearing his name: Lugar–Obama, which expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons,[63] and the Coburn–Obama Transparency Act, which authorized the establishment of USAspending.gov, a web search engine on federal spending.[64] On June 3, 2008, Senator Obama, along with Senators Thomas R. Carper, Tom Coburn, and John McCain, introduced follow-up legislation: Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.[65]
Obama sponsored legislation requiring nuclear plant owners to notify state and local authorities of radioactive leaks.[66] In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act, marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.[67] In January 2007, Obama and Senator Feingold introduced a corporate jet provision to the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, which was signed into law in September 2007.[68] He introduced Deceptive Practices and Voter Intimidation Prevention Act, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections.[69] Obama also introduced the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007.[70]
Later in 2007, Obama sponsored an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges.[72] He sponsored the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and co-sponsored legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.[73][74] Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program providing one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.[75]
    Committees
Obama held assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans' Affairs through December 2006.[76] In January 2007, he left the Environment and Public Works committee and took additional assignments with Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.[77] He also became Chairman of the Senate's subcommittee on European Affairs.[78] As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama has made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. He met with Mahmoud Abbas before he became President of Palestine, and gave a speech at the University of Nairobi condemning corruption in the Kenyan government.[79][80][81][82]

All I'm pointing out is that there's a difference in the two positions. Condemn him for being pro-choice all you wish -- he is.

What?? I haven't even seen Revmitchell on tonight!

    Commentary is by nature partial!

    Check the dictionary!

A marxist on any flavor is terrible!

The term pro choice is nuanced! For any Christian the murder of unborn children should be anathema. Again Obama is viciously pro abortion or should I say pro infanticide based on his vote in the Illinois Senate.

You are incorrect and I haven't forgotten. The only media outlet to really examine Obama was the Fox News Channel. There was one black journalist in Chicago who did some of the initial work concerning Obama's illegitimate associations. He has appeared several times on Fox. There have also been a couple of books exposing Obama's past.

The major broadcast networks [ABC, CBS, and NBC] as well as CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times , and the Washington Post have been cheerleaders of the Obama candidacy. They even dissed Hillary in the process!

So Baptist Believer, what do we really know about Obama?

A person who would attend a congregation and listen to a Marxist pastor? for 20 years and then claim it was news to him is what?

A person as brilliant as you imply and not realize that William Ayers was an unrepentant terrorist is what?

A person whose teenage years were spent with a communist mentor is what?

A person who claims to be a Christian yet support unlimited abortion, including Partial Birth Abortion is what?

A person who would vote against a law requiring medical attention for an aborted child born alive is what?

By the way "wikipedia" is notoriously inaccurate!!!

A thread discussing the unknown Obama was just closed. I thought the resurrection of this one might be useful. If the administrator doesn't think so he has "the poowwer" to close it.
