Ok. I'm still trying to come to terms with this. I wonder about the following:

--Does the McCain campaign actually think that Hillary supporters will be lured to the ticket by a militant pro-lifer who also believes in the teaching of intelligent design?

--Palin exploded her state's coffers by imposing a windfall profits tax on the oil companies...sort of--no, exactly--like the proposal Barack Obama has made and John McCain has attacked. Apparently, she also supported the Bridge to Nowhere, despite her disclaimer at today's event. So how does McCain explain putting a tax-raising porker on his ticket?

--Palin was an active supporter of Pat Buchanan for president. Does that mean she's against free trade? No friend of Israel? (If you really want to have some fun, go over to the Commentary blog and watch the neoconservatives squirm.)

--Most of all, I wonder what Republican foreign policy and national security experts think of this--people like Dick Lugar, Brent Scowcroft, James Baker, Colin Powell, Chuck Hagel, George H.W. Bush?

Other than that, she seemed a fresh, delightful presence at the announcement ceremony today.

Palin alienate Jewish voters in Florida?

She must counter this, I have not heard her come out in support of Israel like Barack Obama did in Israel, Pat Buchanan as you know has his own hall of shame with the Jewish voters in America , if they find out she is a disciple of his, Florida is blue and a lot of Hagee Christians types will cut her off.

She is letting opportunities slip by , she is stonewalling on the e-mails and she is spinning and trying to scrub her relationship to Pat Buchanan (btw listen to Pat on his recollection of her)

something new that is coming out, she may have lied about the "bridge to nowhere" or spun it but another one she needs to answer.

    plus others are piling up
    Feminist?
    Creationist?
    Dominionist?

alot of "ist" with this woman

She is beginning to look like a "wind leaning" politician ... which ever way the wind seems to be blowing that will help her ... that is what she is for.

Considering how poorly Governor Palin is being received by the electorate(basically in Dan Quayle territory) I wonder if by Tuesday there may be a new running mate for Senator McCain.

Governor Palin may say that she reconsidered and didn't want to be away from her family for the next two months.

Really? the woman who stood up to the Republican leadership in Alaska? The woman who stood up to Ted Stevens and the "bridge to nowhere?"

Amazing how these rather significant actions are overlooked...

    EDIT...added the corresponding SOURCE

In fact...this article would seem to be quite in opposition to the above-mentioned claims...

Is this a scientifically-verified opinion, or is this simply because this is your week to support Obama?

It's in a Fox News story:

"In the poll taken Friday, 39 percent said she is ready to serve as president if needed, 33 percent said she isn’t and 29 percent have no opinion.

That’s the lowest rating any running mate has had since then-Indiana Sen. Dan Quayle was selected in 1988 to join George H.W. Bush’s team.

By contrast, 57 percent of voters rated Delaware Sen. Joe Biden as qualified after Obama selected him last week. Eighteen percent said he wasn’t qualified."

Ken you are as wishy washy on polls as you are Presdential canidates. Interestingly when polls do not show in favor of your political mind set you say tey mean nothing or it is to soon to be taking polls serioulsy. With all of your vast historical political knowledge one would think you would be more stable.

I've noticed, Pastor Mitchell, that when the facts don't suit your side that your side attacks my personal character.

That's real nice on the part of Christians. NOT!

My suggestion is that if you feel I have attacked your personal character then you should report it. What I actually have done is to show your inconsistancy in your positions. It goes to your credibility of your statements.

Further questioning this cedibility it is important to note that you (as well as a few others) are as rude and post attacks in the same way you accuse others.

It's a Fox News story, Pastor Mitchell. Go complain to them about it if you don't like what they are reporting.

This is a weak redirection. You dismiss polls when they do not sut our political agenda. But tout them out when you think they do. John Kerry would be proud of you.

True, but is standing up to the republican leadership the way to get their support?

Winning a political fight in Alaska, does that really prepare you for life on the Hill?

And that bridge to nowhere, all she did was say no thanks to the federal check.

    She has not addressed Israel????

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9rZkJfKoEU

She was big time supporter of Pat Buchanan, she needs to address her support for Israel or even go there and denounce Pat Buchanan

    Florida is at stake

    but she is silent

Here is what Pat Buchanan said but Sarah is trying to spin out of it.

But that's not quite how Buchanan remembers it.

Buchanan told Chris Matthews yesterday that Palin "was a brigader in 1996 as was her husband, Chris, they were at a fundraiser for me, she's a terrific gal, she's a rebel reformer."

Buchanan of course has a long history of quite questionable comments, particularly about Jews.

Rep. Bob Wexler, D-Florida, took the AP report, and said "John McCain's decision to select a vice presidential running mate that endorsed Pat Buchanan for president in 2000 is a direct affront to all Jewish Americans. Pat Buchanan is a Nazi sympathizer with a uniquely atrocious record on Israel, even going as far as to denounce bringing former Nazi soldiers to justice and praising Adolf Hitler for his 'great courage.' At a time when standing up for Israel's right to self-defense has never been more critical, John McCain has failed his first test of leadership and judgment by selecting a running mate who has aligned herself with a leading anti-Israel voice in American politics. It is frightening that John McCain would select someone one heartbeat away from the presidency who supported a man who embodies vitriolic anti-Israel sentiments."

another mess she needs to clear up

    http://www.411mania.com/politics/columns/84097

But this story, Palin being linked to an extremist like Buchanan, has other links. It further paints a picture of Palin as very much a rightwing extremist. She is against abortion in EVERY scenario including rape and incest, a position over 90% of America disagrees with. She wants to teach creationism in school science classes, which is one of the more extreme religious positions one can take. And she is as pro-big oil as you can get.

She needs to start speaking up, the troopergate is getting worse not better.

McCain may have been unwise or forced by the ultra right wing of the party to pick her. I really believe he wanted Joe Lieberman he had only met Sarah Palin once before the announcement , I thought it was more, Andrea Mitchell said it had only been recent.

Wexler is wrong. Pat Buchanan is not a Nazi sympathizer. He is an anti-Iraq war conservative.

Also, I don't think that Governor Palin is as much pro-big oil as some people think she is.

Is there a more reliable source for these accusations?

What source will suit you, Pastor Mitchell? Evidently you don't trust Fox News.
