What if Obama Had Scheduled a 4th of July Celebration with Military Hardware?

Trump changed the immigration laws by trying to block everyone from a group of Muslim nations. He also has ordered that children be imprisoned separate from their parents longer than the law dictates.

He changed no laws, like I said Obama is the one who did that with DACA. The Executive branch of our government is responsible for the implementation of our immigration policy, including deciding who can visit on a visa. The fact is, he merely wanted to put a moratorium on people coming here from certain nations prone to producing terrorists. He was sued in the lower courts and the Supreme Court ultimately ruled in his favor by a 5-4 vote.

As to your second claim, President Trump has not done what you said and that is what is causing our problems. He is abiding by the law and releasing all of these people after the required time in custody which I believe is 20 - 24 days. They are released and given a court date to decide their claim, which of course we all know they will not show up for.

Probably true. If Obama had done it, images of the old USSR military parades on the Red Square would have come to mind, I also would have wondered if that was a warning signal to the right - look at me, we can turn THIS on you, now off to the re-education camps.

So the left's paranoia here is understandable to a degree but Trump being Trump, he's probably trying to make the point that America is really great, militarily in particular, and trying to troll the left again.

All advocate national control and thus stand in clear opposition to a limited federal government based on individual and state rights. All of these forms of socialism should be considered not just antithetical to the COTUS, but subversive, seeking to supplant it, that is, attempting to overthrow the government.

 

This is false. Trump didn't change any laws at all.

Secondly, Trump was only blocking travel to the US from seven Muslim countries that were known to be hotbeds from terrorism. Immigration from most Muslim countries was not hindered at all.

Thirdly, no children have been "imprisoned" by Trump. They were detained and now we know that those children were not with their parents, but that children are being recycled by human traffickers at the border so that illegals can appear to be their children in order to cross over. Turns out, the DNA results have been showing that these people are not the parents of those children. Keeping the children separate keeps them away from the human traffickers, not their parents.

In some cases, not all, but in some, it has been reported that some of the parents abandon their children once they get across. The families that do come across are not wholesome families. The parents are drug dealers, murderers and have long history of criminal activity. These are not necessarily innocent people.

The Democrats are not honest about what is happening at the border and they pretty much ignore the CBP reports because those reports often contradict the false, self-serving narrative that Democrats keep trying to promote.

 

I think it is now obvious, to the disappointment of the Left that the people of the US got a good history of our nation that is not being taught in public schools any longer. Trump didn't do what he was predicted to do. They predicted it would be like a Trump rally and he would tout himself, but that didn't happen.

These were not goose stepping soldiers and miles of tanks and missiles. But, it was a salute to the military that has protected us so that we can celebrate our independence. Being proud of our military is not despotic at all.

And not a single person, in their right mind, was offended by what happened yesterday at the Capitol. It should have made every American proud.

As for the expense... We have a Democrat party that wants to spend $90 trillion on the Green New Deal, $17 trillion on slavery reparations, $30trillion on Medicare for all, $1.5 trillion is student loan forgiveness... It's pretty hypocritical for them to complain about how much this celebration would cost. They toss around billions of $$$ like it is pocket change every day in DC. So a few million for this isn't that big of a deal. And given that it educated people about parts of our history that we have forgotten, it was worth it.

I want to jump on this opportunity to agree. JFK and RFK and MLK are American heroes. They died in the service of truth and justice for all. The left of today is more communist and capitalist, more dictatorial elitist than egalitarian.

This is going to be a VERY unpopular statement. But MLK is overrated. There were so many others that accomplished more than he did for Civil Rights. He was not exactly what you would call a model citizen when you actually learn about his life.

 

He was a human being with faults, just like we all are. He was not afraid to do things that would get him arrested and he also knew that any moment that he was out in public could be his last.

 

How did JFK die in the service of truth and justice for all? He died because he got the Mafia to help him get elected and then his administration (the Justice Dept. under his brother Bobby) went after them. Kennedy was a serial philanderer and I look at him as I saw John McCain - a brave man who did his duty in wartime, but a real sleaze ball of a politician. JFK was like Obama, the media loved him and all he got was good press.

 

That doesn't change the fact he is overrated and over-celebrated.
