The common denominator is that both are criminals.

don’t believe people should marry whomever they want for love.
So you are saying liberals would have no problem with polygamy, mother/son; brother/sister, ect?

Republicans believe the wealthy and big business should receive tax breaks and subsidies
In Syracuse, NY it was the Dems who wanted to give a 20 year tax break to build a mall (and that was just the beginning) http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2013/02/destiny_usa_developer_claims_5.html

Republicans believe people have the right to discriminate because of religious freedom.
No discrimination - so there should only be unisex rest rooms

Republicans believe they should be able to carry weapons everywhere they go to prove their manhood.
So I suppose Wendy Davis is now a Republican

Republicans believe we should spend as much money as possible for the military
50 years ago - I would estimate only 20% of GI's were married. Today it is well over 50% - if not 70%. A good portion of the military budget goes for family - ie housing, PCS moves, on base MWR, ect.

rather than spending money for helping the less fortunate.
That is the job of churches and/or social agy - on a volunteer basis.

Didn't need to answer all , as others have given some excellent responses.
Besides, I am lazy ( oh does that make me a liberal)

The joke is on the lefties then. They'll be just as enslaved by the totalitarian government they're helping to build as the righties.

Admonishing people to turn their eyes upon Jesus is trolling?

I have not seen it. What I have seen is he uses Jesus as an excuse to race bait , read into people's posts what he wants to accuse them of, and intentionally misrepresent them. Quite frankly I am offended by his use of God. He uses God as a tool to jeer others.

Your defense of him is rather odd even for you.

There are people who really do not like the hard teachings of Jesus ... like how we are to treat others.

And you nailed it CTB. For some, politics is foremost and because of that they feel justified in their nasty attitudes and downright ugliness when it comes to anyone whose POV differs from theirs.

They're okay with loving their neighbor as themselves as long as their neighbor pats them on the back and agrees with their politics.

I'm not bothered at all when such people question my admonishments to make Jesus Christ the center of everything. I'm not bothered at all when some think I mention Jesus to "jeer" at others.

The Body of Christ needs to act like Christ.
The Body of Christ is supposed to point folks to Him, not drive them away.
The Body of Christ is supposed to be known for our love.

Politics has created a lot of angry people. God's people are supposed to be people of JOY. So why it behooves folks that I would always want the conversation steered back towards the Bringer of that Joy instead of the bringer of anger is interesting.

But like I said, I don't have a problem with the comments. It's what anger and idolatry will do to a person.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
    Matthew 5:10-11

I'm blessed and I shall continue to rejoice and be glad that there is STILL a remnant who can see past the wickedness of this world system and keep their eyes fully focused on Christ and building up HIS Kingdom and not the kingdom of this world.

Precisely. I'm constantly amazed at the number of negative posts and fearful posts that are put in the Politics forum and the News/Current Events forum.

Last week, after I made a series of posts listing positive economic news there were several that reacted with (predictable) counter posts claiming the news was fake, the data was falsified, that it was all a mirage. Instead, things are TERRIBLE AND NOT GETTING BETTER! I was STUPID and CLUELESS! The message seemed to be: Don't bring me good news, I want to wallow in negativity.

Just the fact that you have to say that breaks my heart because THAT attitude is taking over. I laud you for your atempt to be the Lighthouse on the Hill. But it's obvious that some folks don't want anything but the negativity.

Jesus Himself could show up and say "Hey timeout with the politics and negativity. Folks are going to Hell" and I think some would chastise Him.

But keep your eye on the prize ITL. Shall Jesus Christ add a blessing to your life today for not losing sight that HE must ALWAYS be foremost in our lives.

The more I see the way people act because of politics and things that center around politics, the more I'm convinced that it needs to be gotten out of the Church of Jesus Christ.

    Question: What is more stupid?

Liberals using "cut and paste" in order to repeat nationally determined "talking points" claiming to tell us "what Republicans believe."

    or,

Republicans actually trying to correct them.

Good grief, people! Use your brains!!

We say that every day. Folks are going to hell. The answer seems to be "that's OK, as long as they're fed".

Some folks here don't seem to believe in hell. They deny the epistles are inspired. They teach that we evolved from monkeys. They call people who hold to scripture "bigots".

Zaac, if you truly believed what you write, you could not possibly justify a single minute of posting, here.

The teachings of Jesus ? Jesus said he will deny those who deny him. The teachings of Jesus will not save anyone. His death, and resurrection are seldom mentioned by the liberal crowd, unless it's a link to a liberal preacher denying both.

By the way criticizing the politics of others is engaging in politics. Therefore any suggestion that to engage in politics makes one angry or pulls them away from sharing the gospel means you are telling on yourself. In other words the accusation is self defeating and hypocritical.

Glad I didn't say that. But I'll say this: Participating in any discussion of politics has made YOU a very angry person. It just is what it is

Yes pointing out your unGodly behavior would be termed self-defeating and hypocritical. That's what you're supposed to say to take the eyes off your behavior.
