there is saving power in the gospel Romans 1:16 and that is what brings about faith Romans 10:17

God regenerates His elect and quite soon afterward the now spiritual alive soul, now able to hear and understand the gospel, places its faith, trust, and hope in Christ Jesus, the Lord his Righteousness.

Ephesians 2: When we were dead in sin, God made us alive together with Christ. So why did God put us spiritually into Christ's spiritual body? We were saved by grace though or by means of faith. Thus our faith according to this Ephesians reference provided our access to the grace in which we stand. Romans 5:1-2.

Then we have John 1:12-13. We were given the power to become the sons of God because we believed. Therefore before we were born anew, becoming sons of God.

The inability to understand scripture stems from non study and acceptance of errant commentary.

God makes His elect spiritually alive and quite soon afterward the now spiritual alive soul, now able to hear and understand the gospel, places its faith, trust, and hope in Christ Jesus, the Lord his Righteousness.

Utter fiction!

God makes His elect, those chosen and placed within Christ's spiritual body, alive together with Christ. But why are they chosen? See 2 Thessalonians 2:13, they are chosen through or by way of faith in the truth. So once again, yet another verse, out of many, clearly teach our faith must be credited as righteousness by God in order to gain access to His saving grace.

Placing any part of the reason for being saved as being based on the ungodly sinner is a false teaching.

Utter fiction, the doctrine God does proclaim believers are chosen through or by way of faith is found in many passages.

Note, no one said the reason for being saved is based on the ungodly sinner, but upon gaining access to saving grace based on God, not a sinner, crediting the sinners worthless faith, as righteousness.

See Romans 3:30, Galatians 3:14, Ephesians 2:8, Philippians 3:9, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:15, and Hebrews 6:12.

Man cannot choose himself. God chose and predestinated His elect before the world began.

Ephesians 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (emphasis mine)

Van, you want to claim at least of the glory of salvation for yourself. You should stop doing so.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Isaiah 48:11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. (emphasis mine)

Did anyone say man chooses Himself? Nope so yet another false argument rather than addressing the truth of scripture.
KenH has no idea that everyone chosen is then predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ. And who was presestined to adoption, the redemption of our bodies at Christ's second coming, Romans 8:23? Those chosen through their credited faith in the truth.

Did I say I claim the glory of salvation? Nope, so yet another utterly false and despicable charge hurled at me. This is all they have to hide their obviously false doctrine.

God chose His elect before the foundation of the world(2 Timothy 1:9).
Utter falsehood, scripture precludes anyone being individually chosen before they were once not a people chosen for God's own possession. See 1 Peter 2:9-10

Utter falsehood being promulgated by Van. He keeps doing so over and over and over again on this board. God chose His elect before the foundation of the world(2 Timothy 1:9). Van might keep denying the truth, but he cannot change the truth of God's Word.

Did this poster address that scripture precludes anyone from being chosen before they were once not a people? Nope - so more running and hiding from truth.

Does 2 Timothy 1:9 support his view? Nope, All it says is everyone individually saved has received the grace provided by His redemption plan formulated before creation.

Which in time were not a people,.... A "Loammi" being put upon them; see Hos 1:9 to which the apostle here refers: God's elect, whether among Jews or Gentiles, were, from eternity, his chosen people, and his covenant people; and, as such, were given to Christ, and they became his people, and his care and charge; and he saved them by his obedience, sufferings, and death, and redeemed them to himself, a peculiar people: but then, before conversion, they are not a people formed by God for himself, and his praise; nor Christ's willing people, either to be saved by him, or to serve him; nor are they, nor can they be truly known by themselves, or others, to be the people of God: the Syriac version gives the true sense of the phrase, by rendering it "these who before were not" חשבון, "reckoned or accounted a people"; that is, by others:

but are now the people of God; being regenerated, called, and sanctified, they are avouched by God to be his people; they have the witness of the Spirit to their spirits, that they are the people of God; they can then claim their relation to God, and are known, acknowledged, and called the people of God, by others:

which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy; being called formerly, Loruhamah, Hos 1:6 which passages the apostle has in view: before conversion there is mercy in God's heart towards his elect, and so there is in the covenant of grace, and which was shown in the provision of his Son, as a Saviour, in the mission of him, and redemption by him; but this is not manifested to them, until they are begotten again, according to abundant mercy, and then they obtain mercy; having in their regeneration an evident display of the mercy of God towards them, and an application of his pardoning grace and mercy, through the blood of his Son, unto them."

Yes, there is. I shared two in post #16 in this thread.

Neither one of those verses says that we must be regenerated prior to believing in fact John 1:12 says just the opposite. Nothing says regeneration prior to believing.

The Bible clearly teaches that regeneration precedes the granting of faith in Christ and repentance from dead works.
