What was the tree of knowledge of good and evil and why?

    What was the tree of knowledge of good and evil and why was it in the garden? :godisgood: :thumbs: :jesus: :praying:

    It was just a tree - but by God making the statement that "it was forbidden" -- it "became sin" to eat of it. "Gods WORD is Law". Sin is defined as "transgression of God's Law" in 1John 4.

    Some have suggested that the Tree of Knowledge of good AND EVIL was very near the "Tree of Life" (possibly in the center of Eden) and that going to the Tree of Live would mean that you would at least "See" the tree of knowledge of "good AND evil".

    Adam and Eve already knew "Good" -- but by eating of the forbidden tree they would ALSO learn of evil.

    And that was fatal according to the Word of God.
