    um...

it's "study to shew thyself approved..."

be careful...I think Hort translated it "show."

Just wanted you to get the "only english version of scripture" right. :saint:

Proverbs 16:18- Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

OK, time for my serious point.

Arminius, without even trying, destroyed a foundational point of argument.

HE CHANGED SCRIPTURE. The word in the KJV is "shew," not "show." But, of course, we all know it means the same thing. And "show" is in our common usage; "shew" is not. But, as the old motto goes, "things that are different are not the same." So the above quotation, which is a fine recitation of scripture to me, should be anathema to a KJVO.

Thanks for proving my point that languages change, and that God is bigger than one man's native tongue.

So how long has Wescott and Hort been associated with the 'New Age' movement? The answer to that question shows Riplinger's* unhistorical attempt at guilt by association.

So it seems that you are very forgetful, have a double-standard, or are simply duplicitous with your rhetoric.

You're right rbell.. we all know that by replacing the "e" with an "o" is the devils work...

    The letter O is evil...
You see it was an evil plan devised by hOrt to honor himself.
It stands for the eternal plan he had with Satan to destroy the Bible.

And if you look at the letter O it is really this symbol:

So you see by replacing the letter "e" with "o" is really honoring Hort and the evil serpent, Satan.

See, I can act like Riplinger and I don't even have an interior design degree!! :wavey:

Oh no!!! I just noticed the smileys must be demon possessed for they are in the form of "O" also!!!:tonofbricks:

Arminius, you need to get to work then! Else you would know that in 1611 the definition of the word "study" actually meant "earnest" (hint: showing deep sincerity or seriousness). It is just wrong to think that the KJV meaning is that it is the pursuit of knowlege (hint: the contemporary definition of "study") shews yourself as approved unto God. The KJV has a proper rendering, you just don't comprehend it's archaic language. Thanks for proving the point that archaic language is an issue.

He is good at destroying his foundational points of argument, isn't he.
