What is divine enablement? And how does the believer appropriate grace that’s needed for deliverance?

90% of the time pastoral counsel is dead wrong on this much needed topic.

To live for our God and Father today requires daily forgiveness. It means we have to sacrifice an animal every night. Not really. But in the Old Testament the saved people did have to sacrifice an animal for each time they committed an s t of sin. We are to use the example of foot washing that Jesus showed to the disciples and that John 1:9 defines as confessing sin in order to wash our walk, to wash our feet, to cleanse our sins each day of our walk in Christ.

The natural man cannot confess his sin until God draws him to the Son and saves him. We as believers we can miss the methodology of appropriation of grace that is vital to our earthly fellowship to Godwards because it is severed when we sin. We should confess our sin to God immediately as well as at night before bed. But that is not the nature of our flesh and the flesh will attempt to keep us from praying for forgiveness which leads us into addictions of our flesh.

Drug addiction. Licentiousness addiction (examples from immoralities)
Teaching false doctrine addiction. (possibly not taught immorally but by those who lack the gift of knowledge and then axiomatically they show the absence of the gift of teacher)

I believe that we can change and that this process can happen instantly if one is willing to submit humbly to God’s remedy for the believer that can so easily restore him or her to proper fellowship, faith in the love and grace of God even for us who are so blinded by pride.

Some people however need time because they have trauma from self infliction or from others. And from satanic providence like with the story of Jonah who happened to find a ship heading in the opposite direction from where God told him to go.

Dedication of our bodies as the dwelling places of the Spirit of God is what enables our escape from the flesh. Be filled with the Spirit meaning controlled by the Spirit. If we are using our bodies for acts of sin we are yielding our bodies for the world the flesh and Satan. Which is why confession as 1 John 1:9 is the divine enabling to being controlled by the Holy Spirit. We cannot yield ourselves to the control of God if we’ve broken fellowship with God because of sin. If we break this daily ritual then we can become addicted to sins or put another way we can become disabled meaning until we have fellowship restoration with God we won’t be fulfilling the command to be filled with His Spirit we won’t be under the control of the Holy Spirit and will be building with wood hay stubble.

I am convinced that washing one another’s feet is not just forgiving other believers but also helping others to learn the process of a sanctified life of spiritual vitality. What I see being taught in churches today is not producing sanctification of believers and many are clueless to help those in need of correction.

Too many today are being decimated with guilt with faithlessness and have become carnal believers.

Well, we are not guilty by declarative statement from the God of all the universe. And even when we habitually sin we still are not guilty by God’s declaration because he is indeed very well pleased in his Son’s sacrifice for our freedom.

Our problem began and remained when we refused to agree with the declaration of our total freedom from the consequences of our sins past present and future.

“And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭ASV‬‬ Abraham believed God for a son and God imputed the righteousness of Christ into Abraham not the righteousness of Abraham, God’s righteousness. We believe in God for a Son too and the righteousness of Christ has been imputed to us by faith. If we do not believe this because we are caught in and enticed by the lust of the flesh then we can not please God.

It is not faith in ourselves but in his declaration of our right standing in Christ. Sin becomes an addiction when we fail to see ourselves as perfect in Christ and then we continue to repeat the offenses simply because we fail to agree with God’s view of us. Step one for us is to recognize our true self as our new man our newborn human spirit. The epistle of John says that the newborn human spirit is not capable of committing acts of sin. So it is our bodies that sin. Who are we to identify with? The old man or the newborn human spirit? We must identify ourselves anew and reckon the flesh dead. Like Paul we can say it is no longer who we are!

Step two in daily prayer where we agree with our father that our sin is sin. We cannot keep coming to God if we are guilt ridden thinking we let God down. He’s not looking down saying “I can’t believe he just did that again.” He can believe we did it again and he therefore gave us the remedy. Acknowledging our true identities, agreement with God concerning acts of sin that have been committed and faithfulness in the faithfulness of our God and Father to cleanse us from our flesh on a daily recurrence. That my brothers is what freedom with no strings attached looks like.

“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit to them: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this were unprofitable for you.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:17‬ ‭ASV‬‬

Because the teaching elders aka pastors will have to give an account for your life and if you don’t get it together (even if the elder fails to recover you) you will be held responsible for the deficit, and you will suffer loss of rewards.

To me the above teaching works only when truly humble. If not humble it does not help much.
