Whence Wednesday Services

    I don't know either, but years ago we were attending a church which provided dinner every Wednesday evening to get people to attend. It was sad that they had to resort to that to get people to attend. It did work and it worked very well.

    </font>[/QUOTE]Well, sometimes, especially if one has to work, one does not have time to prepare a meal at home before going to church. If this is the case, the children might go without food until 8 or 9 o'clock...which is not conducive to good behavior. The Wednesday night meals simply make going to church easier.

    The IFB church of which I am a member has no corporate meetings on either Sunday or Wednesday evenings.

    We are NOT liberal, we are NOT apostates, nor are we heretics .

    We are a cell-based church.

    My previous church called Wed. night Bible Study, but it was a little singing and a sermon.

    My current church calls Wed. night a Bible Study, and that is exactly what it is. The Pastor reads the scripture and we discuss it and learn from one another.
