You can but it is not a smart thing to do. Call animal control and they will take care of it. They are common but easily avoided.

Just a bit cool here this morning--third day in a row with no change in sight.

If somebody is shooting black bear on sight, then they're scumbags and should be charged.

Up here, they generally get away with it... generally thrown outa court. Kinda like the justification for raising property taxes to the moon, It’s for the children. So when a black bear and cubs come into the neighborhood, shoot them dead so they don’t in danger the wife and kiddies, ie shoot first and ask questions later.

Not an excuse to shoot a bear, particularly a black bear, which, while a nuisance, is typically not a threat.

Yea I think they come from Louisiana or some other place where they kill critters and so they look for ways to get out the blood lusts. I’d force them into some infantry where they can shoot and they shoot back.

Oh, I see now. You're just trolling.

    That's very clever of you.

I'm not from Louisiana, so I'm afraid your intended insult didn't hit its target.

Noooo and didn’t say you were. People who are native to NJ aren’t normally all that ready to pull out guns, simply cause they normally don’t have them.... but my neighbor from Louisiana always pulls them out. My guns get kept in a safe and only taken out to go to the range.

I wouldn’t eat bear but there is elk hunting in Pennsylvania and Arizona... shooting bear and bear cubs in NJ ... not so much.

But everywhere in NJ there are these goofballs that come out and kill livestock, dogs, goats, horses and cows and when you ask them how they could have shot the horse, you get.... well I thought.... duh

    Happens everywhere.

I remember seeing a Jersey calf in a cousin's field, with an arrow sticking out of it, wondering "If you're close enough to use a bow...???"

Same thing every year Rob. Really how sporting is it to shoot a calf, a dog, a horse?

Years ago I took my shotgun with me to a field looking to kick up some rabbit. While there, I meet a group of 3 young men and a beagle. We teamed up and the dog caught the scent in the bramble bushes below. I told these guys that I would go down into the gulley and see if I could help the dog kick up the rabbit and I did kick him out of his cover. Well these three novices started shooting wildly almost hitting me, the dog and totally missing the rabbit by a mile. I went home and never hunted in New Jersey again. You take your life into your own hands if you do.
