    I know that there are many Bibles, made in the 1700s and 1800s, that are called "AV1611s."

    1) Is the NIV also a "AV1611"?

    2) Is the NKJV a "AV1611"?

    3) How many Bibles, differing in doctrine and text from the KJV of 1611, are "KJV 1611s" or "AV1611s"?

    No to all your question.

    The KJV1769 Edition is the 'AV1611';
    The KJV1611 editon is NOT the 'AV1611'.
    These definitions vary from place to place
    and author to author.

    The Authorised Version of 1611 is the only AV1611. This is the true "King James Bible," and contains more than 66 Books. Reproduction copies are readily available.

    Is it bearing false witness to say you used the AV1611 if you use the NKJV?

    Is it bearing false witness to say you used the AV1611 if you use the KJV 1769?

    Yes, they are two different versions.

    Yes, they are two different versions.

    tee hee,
    I got invited to leave a board today with:

    And they were offended in him. But Iesus said vnto them,
    A Prophet is not without honour, saue in his owne

    But the Authorized version reads:

    Quote:
    ------------------------------
    57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them,
    A prophet is not without honour, save in his own
    country, and in his own house.
    58 And he did not many mighty works
    there because of their unbelief.

    In fact, that KJV1611 was authorized by King James I of England;
    that KJV1769 was NOT authorized by King
    James I of England.

    Of course, by the time to get to KJVO#5
    the KJV1769 edition is the only one
    authorized BY GOD ;)

    No Modern Version, including any called the "King James", are truly AV1611. There are hundreds of significant changes that preclude them being called by that name.

    It is a sad fact that most churches that proclaim themselves 'AV1611' actually do not use that translation and are ARE deceptive.
