This poll found its way here as a result of the New Revised Standard Version discussion, feel free to post your thoughts wherever suits you best! [IMG]

    For college?
My choice would be the NASB (New Australian Standard Bible ;) ).

Even though Americans don't know how to spell "centre" and "colour," the NASB stands head and shoulders above the others. [IMG]

    None of the above

NASB if you support the so called minority texts
NKJV if you support the so called majority texts

Agree with "none" and C4K's assessment of good translations.

Why limit to those 3? They all have glaring weaknesses. :(

None of the above, I agree with C4K, NKJV for majority text supporters, and NASB for minority, I would add ESV to that as well.

Of the selections in the poll, I voted for the NIV. However, I would actually choose either the NKJV or the NASB...

I'm in college and soon (Lord willing) seminary,

I use KJV, ESV, NASB [IMG]

By the way, NONE of your choices would be a choice of mine, just thought I'd say [IMG]

If you support the "so called majority texts" you DEFINETLY do not want to use the NKVJ because the phrase translated, " Him who lives forever and ever " (Rev. 5:14) and the words translated, "and he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him" (Acts 9:6) are not found in ANY known Greek manuscript and are translated from the Latin Vulgate. How can anyone claim that phrases that are not found in ANY known Greek manuscript are found in the majority of Greek manuscripts? :D
