Okay, I don't usually say these kinds of things, but you are getting way out of hand, so here goes.

Everything you know about the Bible and theology would fit into a thimble.

There I said it.

Additionally, you need to be locked up in a room full of autistic children until you realize that when they do things like biting, it is because the autistic part of their brain is telling them to. They have very little control. The normal part of their brain can understand right and wrong, but they won't be able to execute it because of their autism.

This is from a teacher who works with these children everyday. They can be a real delight, but you better know how to restrain them.

This is why their brain needs re-programed and a bite in return will do it.

Uh..okay...are you joking? Is this a huge joke?

There is NOTHING you can do to cure this. You can help them reach their full potential, but their autism will always be there. It won't change. It won't go away.

Get a grip, dude. And get a life. Hopefully not on BB.

This is true :tear: , however correct handling with prayer and Gods help will make it bearable for all concerned. Thanks be to THE LORD.

You know, I was just thinking...freeatlast is probably pulling our leg. I hear some off-the-wall stuff...but certainly he doesn't really believe such absolute lunacy. He's probably laughing that we get worked up over his ridiculous statements.

caveat: Barring a miraculous touch from God.

I can completely imagine being in a restraint hold with a kid, having him bite you, and having your bottom jaw as your only available weapon. I would bite a kid to get his jaws off me.

Yup.

Hard.

I misread your posting. I apologize! I responded the way I did because I couldn't believe what you had said. I could not imagine you, or anyone else, bitting an autistic child.

AMEN! Don't let Free upset you. Remember, this is the same poster who basically told me to be quiet since I'm female.

Thank you for clarifying that autism is not a MENTAL disability, but a neurological one. I for one did not know that.

Yep. There is nothing that is going to change that neurological impairment, save a direct miracle from God, though these children can be worked with, cared for, and allowed to develop as far as is possible for them.

I teach a number of autistic kids, and though there are undeniable behavior problems that go with many, they are some of the sweetest, most loving, and gentle children you could ever meet.

Freeatlast needs to be bitten to see if that changes his obvious mental impairment.

I usually do just call it a mental disorder because that's what most people understand that don't work with that. At work we call it a developmental disability, while it just happens to be listed in the dsm iv, which means most people auto assume it's mental illness.

Whatever anyone decides to call it, it's still not caused by bad parenting.

And what's-her-face on here saying it is okay and the result of bad parenting and all that really DOES believe that and is not just being silly...either that or just being cruel about it, as they followed my link and posted this same stuff on the comment section of the news story I linked. Hopefully not too many people read it, but in case they did, I put up a reply in case those reading misunderstood and took her comments as a common Christian viewpoint. I was dismayed to find this person on a news forum spreading this stuff and using the Bible to defend it.

LOL! Just got a pm asking who is what's her face...so sorry! I just got back from cleaning windows at the church and probably inhaled way too many fumes...

Crud, I just forgot AGAIN right after looking it up...let's see...she posts here as...

freeatlast.

So sorry. To you to freeatlast, I typically don't type "what's-her-face" in reference to people. The fumes I tell ya!

After going through this threads and spending more time than I'd like to editing out the insults n.b. ignorant is acceptable; idiot is not., I am closing it now.

Another n.b., my late sister's son is autistic. So, I'd advise any posting on the condition to be graceful.
