This is what is in Wikipedia where I write on the issues under the WikiProject Seventh-day Adventist Church. Is what is written here Baptist beliefs - Wikipedia what makes one a Baptist, or is there more of a unity in belief?

"Baptists do not have a central governing authority, and Baptist beliefs are not completely consistent from one Baptist church to another. However, Baptists do hold some common beliefs among almost all Baptist churches.

These would include beliefs about one God, the virgin birth, the impeccability, miracles, vicarious atoning death, burial and bodily resurrection of Christ, the need for salvation (although the understanding of means for achieving it may differ at times), divine grace, the Church, the Kingdom of God, last things (Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge everyone in righteousness), evangelism and missions.

Baptist beliefs are seen as belonging to two parties, General Baptists who uphold Arminian theology and Particular Baptists who uphold Reformed theology.[1]"

So that essentially would make everyone who is baptized by immersion a Baptist. (Note many other denominations are baptized by immersion, including Adventist)

Not all Baptists believe in baptism by immersion. They do affirm believers baptism.

    This is closer

    • BELIEVERS BAPTISM
    • BIBLICAL AUTHORITY
    • AUTONOMY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH
    • PRIESTHOOD OF THE BELIEVER
    • INDIVIDUAL SOUL LIBERTY
    • SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.

What would they do then, just declare they "affirm" but not actually do it?

For the Southern Baptist Convention, churches “cooperate” by forming voluntary associations at the local, state, and national levels: essentially to support missions. The churches remain autonomous and the associations can accept or withdraw membership based on stated beliefs or practices.

You can find a wide variety of beliefs on non essential matters, but when it comes to major theological doctrines such as the person and work of Christ, authority of scripture, and so on there is greater agreement.

Even so, “baptists” can range from liberal to very conservative.

    peace to you

I do not get what you are saying. It seems to me that a good reference source would be a good source even if found on a less than reliable website.

The reality is that there are lot of people in the world without access to "reputable" sources. Those of us that have been locked out of "acceptable" resources must rely on what we do have access to, and make the best of it. By locking people out of resources and then requiring use of resources to participate in conversation is a way to silence the masses.

Some of us refuse to be silenced. If you open up access to "better", people will stream to it. In the meantime, we will use what we have.

You never mentioned where we got our name, by the belief in baptism by total immersion (how redundant, immersion by total immersion). And one of the reasons we don't have more commonality in certain doctrines is because we believe in soul liberty/soul competency (see Soul competency ).
