Ludicrous. I can no longer take you seriously. The best bible manuscripts that exist in the world today are rejected by you, because they were preserved in "closets"? They would not have survived 1700 years if they had not been preserved in closets. May be they were providentially discovered in time to repudiate the fanaticism and tyranny of Dean Burgon et al. The spirit of fanaticism breeds persecution, which is opposed by God.
It is not "Ludicrous" in the least, as I have shown you the evidences, several times. Jesus spoke of false prophets in those two locations, and those two mss are in those exact locations, and in locations which the Bible does not look upon favourably (areas around Egypt and Rome).
When did you take me seriously?
What is "best" is simply subjective. I have shown you the interest in mss (period). Best is not really a part of the issue for me. I have cited the evidence of the mss, and historical materials here -

I spake of the singular ms (Codex B (Vaticanus) in the 'secret Vatican archives' (I am not the one who calls it this, but they have, and often do). It has no known traceable provenance, except that it was 'found' there. You trust romanists in this? Are you aware of the many other forgeries and practices of those romanists over the centuries?
Ms 'survive' (not a really good word to use) or, rather, remain 'extant' for numerous reasons. Some of which is that there are those faulty mss, which are known to contain errors (multiple scribal hands over writing each other, leaving notes to one another, &c), are rarely used, and shelved (left in near pristine conditions, such as a Green NWT I have on my shelf, rarely opened or in use unless to show, in charity, some wayward WTS / JW member its many faults, even internally from its own notes, or someone thinking about becoming part of that wayward and flipflopping organization), or buried (become tatters, lacunae, &c). So, to 'find' (assuming this report is accurate for the sake of the point) some ms, like Codex B, at a time when the counter-reformation, by the Jesuits, was arising in strength, and agrees with catholicism and the catholic positions, is actually suspicious, not 'providential'. The doctrine of preservation, as scripture gives, is that the living Bible has always been in the actual living hands of the peoples of God, and in their use, for the salvation of souls / persons. A single lone ms in the back room of that 'Mother' (Rev. 17) can never fit that description. For if the romanists had been using it (which they were not actively, which is why it was in the 'secret archives', in darkness), it would have agreed with their already corrupted Vulgate of Jerome, which it doesn't entirely.
Dean Burgon was by no means 'tyrannic' (just another of your accusations, and that against a dead man at that, which can no longer defend himself, or his character or works), but was instead 'attacked' from numerous angles by the critical textual scholars of his own day, of which he wrote of in his books, refuting their charges, claims and 'evidences' (which have never been countered in any meaningful way). So, I agree, that the spirit of fanaticism breeds persecution, but that is not from myself, or from Burgon, but from others that cannot take the evidences as I, and others like Burgon, have provided. I do desire you to leave off this self-imposed 'persecution' complex you have. You are by no means being persecuted by anyone here, least of all me. You
are being
refuted. That is the difference. If you cannot take such responses, in a semi-public forum, you ought not post here, but that will be up to you. Simply crying 'persecution', when no such thing is happening, is mere distraction to the responses against your position.
I notice you stated, "discovered in time", which means that they were essentially 'unknown' by the peoples of God beforehand, except for a few which handled mss, and only in the hands of a select group (catholics). Do you mean to tell me, and everyone, that the 'real and true' scriptures were not in the hands of the peoples of God, but was in near obscurity for centuries (desert monastery, and secret chamber of the Vatican), and needed to be 'found' by textual-critics and catholics, to make sure the world had access to it / them in the place of what they had had for the last 1500+ (NT, and more for the OT) years?
Just for information on Jerome's Vulgate.

- “... [page 338] And yet you [Helvidius] with marvel-ous effrontery contend that the reading of the Greek manuscripts is corrupt, although it is that which nearly all the Greek writers have left us in their books, and not only so, but sev-eral of the Latin writers have taken the words the same way. Nor need we now consider the variations in the copies, since the whole record both of the Old and New Testament has since that time been 2 translated into Latin, and we must believe that the water of the fountain flows purer than that of the stream. ...
- ... 2 The allusion is to the Old Latin, the Versio Itala. The quo-tations which follow stand different in Jerome’s Vulgate, made subsequently (391-404). The argument is that, since the copies of the Latin version substantially agree in the present case, it is futile to suppose variations in the original. ...” - A Select Library of Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers of the Christian Church: St. Jerome: Letters and select works, 1893

- “... [page 97] You will see by this that Helvidius, the great scholar of the Italic Church, which was the predecessor of the Waldensian or the pre-Waldensian Church, accuses Jerome of using Luke 2:33 just as we find it now in the American Revised Version from corrupt Greek MSS. It is clear that Helvidius had the pure Greek MSS, which were older than the corrupt Greek MSS used by Jerome. The pure Greek MSS read Luke 2:33 as we now read it in the King James Version; so on this one text the present battle between the King James and the American Revised Versions is the centuries-old battle fought between the pre-Waldensian Church and the growing Roman Catholic Church.
