Why do you debate?

    If you do debate, why do you take up the C/A debate?

    1) I debate…Because to believe the other way means that, you are not saved and I need to lead the others to God.

    2) I debate…To take up for my God when others say bad things about Him.

    3) I debate…To understand those without Christ, in order to witness to them.

    4) I debate…Because I like to fight.

    5) I debate…Because there is nothing good on TV.

    6) I debate…To prove to the other side they are losers and filled with mans logic.

    7) I debate…To understand more about the 2 sides.

    8) I debate…To honor God.

    9) I debate…to know my God.

    10) I debate...only when football season is not going on.

    11) I debate…For I love to feel all the love that goes around in C/A.

    12) I debate..because my mother told me this is the right view.

    13) I debate…To teach others.

    14) I debate…Other?

    I choose other I debate in order to learn, you are never to old to learn and when expressing your views someone might point out a flaw or enforce what you have said.

    14) I debate…Other? (To get a better understanding of what I believe, and why. To find out if I am in error so I can correct myself.)

    I have a very difficult time with the C/A debates. I want to believe the truth, and it seems as though both sides have much truth to them. I continue in the debate because I want to learn the truth that answers the division between these brothers in Christ. Lately I haven't learned much. But, I'll hang in there. I am neither a true "C" or true "A".

    To help teach and to learn. I find debate to be the best tool for learning.

    Also you won't be seeing me as much in about 3 weeks because of: 10) I debate...only when football season is not going on.

    BTW, #1 does not attack you or anyone, just that the reason for debate the issue is that he doesn't believe a person can be an evolutionist and a Christian. Lots of folks hold that position. I don't. But he's not saying anyone HERE is unsaved.

    Well...the main reason I started to debate this, was for number 3

    3) I debate…To understand those without Christ, in order to witness to them.

    This however is not the only reason. Over the years, it has made me stronger in my faith as I dig in the Word to make sure of my faith. It can get out of hand and when it does, we all say stupid things. Yet for the most part I love a good debate for it makes you stronger.

    James, maybe I can see some of the logic of your wording sometimes, pushing people to think, not a bad idea at times.
