Why is Obama doing nothing about the oil leak?

Did it ever occur to you that maybe they should not be "federal waters?" When did that happen and why? Another way for federal power to be spread? As far as the contingency plan for oil spills, if that is what you are depending on for your health and welfare, then you do not have a very high standard of yourself. It is like one would kind of get the hint with the response to Katrina, and others. Maybe a person with common sense would get the message, "Hey, I have to take care of myself and mine."

They are Federal waters because they don't belong to any state, and if the US didn't claim them, someone else would. We wouldn't like that would we? The Chinese plan to drill in the general vicinity, just outside our waters.

Maybe we should all go out there in our rowboats and clean things up? I realize Obama did not cause the oil leak, just as Bush did not cause Katrina. But the Fed's own guidelines call for a burnoff of the spilled oil and that didn't happen until this week. And in this case there has been no overlapping of authority as there was in New Orleans, so there is not that excuse.

It's great that you have planned ahead for yourself, but with all due respect SN, I'm pretty sure you don't turn down your Federal pension check each month.
