There are two aspects of the church. There is the local then there is the world wide church. But then you know that.

So, when you say it is the church's business, which church do you mean ?

Really ? It's our job to keep people we don't like out of the Lamb's book of life ? Where is that authority granted ?

I would think you could confront him, like in the bible, and if he didn't repent you could throw him out of the local assembly, in order to protect the congregation. That much is biblical.

But to gossip about his salvation isn't our place.

Unknown to whom? The end of the Bush dynasty was celebrated around the world when an intelligent, rational leader, President Obama, was elected.

Please don't project your worship of Obama on me. I worship only the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you pray for Bush's salvation. You know he said exactly the same thing.

It's hypocrisy to attack Obama's statement and ignore the TWO TIMES Bush said the same think. If you feel the need to judge others judge both equally.

Satan cannot be saved because Jesus became a human sacrifice to save people...not fallen Angels.

Are we having comprehension problems? Or am I having a memory short?

Tell me JustChristian the exact quote of each of them so we can compare if what they said was the exact thing.

    Bush on Religion and God
President Says He Believes Muslims and Christians Pray to Same God
Oct. 26, 2004 - While the president often refers to God during public addresses to his supporters, Bush's religious convictions don't always seem to reflect those of the conservative Christians who make up his political base.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson, Bush said he believes that both Christians and Muslims worship the same God.

"I think we do. We have different routes of getting to the Almighty," Bush said. "But I want you to understand, I want your listeners to understand, I don't get to get decide who goes to heaven. The Almighty God decides who goes to heaven and I am on my personal walk," he said.

Bush is correct on this. GOD decided before the foundation of the world who would be saved. It is called the Doctrine of Election, a doctrine that magnifies the Grace of GOD!:godisgood::jesus::saint:

The words in red are pertinent to the discussion. I'm not necessarily taking issue with the rest.

No, Bush was not correct. You can't take his words out of context, just like you can't take Scripture out of context. The context in which he made the statement that you quoted was prefaced by "Bush said he believes that both Christians and Muslims worship the same God.". That is not true and if you believe that, then all your predestination in the world ain't going to help you.

JC, this thread is about Obama. The best defense for Obama is not an offense remark about Bush on this forum in attempts to derail threads. If you want to talk about Bush, his beliefs, and past history, please start a new thread, thanks.

Wrong again Matt. The statement by Bush that I quoted is correct. However, out of respect for Lady Eagle you can just ignore this post. I am sure you will ignore what it states.

JC didn't answer the question about what exactly did Obama say.

He says both Bush and Obama said EXACTLY the same thing so why do we question the O. Well JC is showing he only knows a little 'bout what Bush said and is unwilling to admit how deep in doodo the O stepped with his statement of faith recently.

As presented by me in an earlier post.... without word for word quoting from each of them, I presented the contrast in statements given by each of them. In one of Bush's last interviews before leaving office, he was the most candid about his faith. While he stopped short of saying that folks who don't follow Jesus will go to hell, he let it be known that he believes what the Bible says and that the way for him is through Christ.

Obama may state that he's a Christian, but publically, when asked before an international audience, he states that he's a buddist, a hindu, a islam, etc... and views it all like from a Christian perspective. Well the truth is there is no Christian perspective which allows for many masters. It shows that whatever he believes about Christianity is not grounded in any semblance of truth according to what very little he has left on record for our scrutiny.

I'm inclined to agree with the RevMitchell...... When one surveys all that Obama has said about Christianity, other religions, and his personal beliefs, there is no way one can conclude that he is a Christian..... unless one is willing to selectively accept what they want to hear: In which case he says he's a Christian...... and the same people who avoid the other things he says he is.... will believe only what they want to believe.... and they are dangerously close to accepting their own deception. How can they know the truth or persuade others that they embrace the whole counsel of God when they selectively choose to hear and believe what sounds good to their ears and deny all else?

JC never answered the question which was raised by his statement. He said both men said EXACTLY the same thing. He made a statement and was called on it. He hasn't proved his point. His statement is false and needs to be retracted. His half answer only shows his strong bias and the lack of his own objectivity. His opinion amounts to nothing if his sight is so narrow he cant see more than what suits him.

SO WHAT? Jimmy Carter was the FIRST President to proclaim that he was a born again Christian and you guys can only say negative things about him. Bush's Christianity was much in doubt but you supported him. It's not really about religion at all. It's all about politics.

No, it about your honesty and integrity on this board.

You made a statement that Obama said exactly the same thing as Bush. This is not true.

You haven't told us exactly what Obama said.

    But I'll tell you:

He told the whole world he's buddhist, hindu, islam, Christian. Now you tell me just what is he? If he's all the above he aint Christian.

He told the world we're not a Christian nateion.

However other nations are often referred to by the religion dominant or influencing their rule and people:

UK, Anglican. Israel, Judhism, Russia, atheist or Orthodox, Saudi Arabia, Islam, Venzuela, Catholic, Italy, Catholic, Greece, Greek Orthodox, India, hindu.

Describing a country by its dominant religion is not the same as saying its the only religion. Obama minimizes Christianity and its role in the foundation and expression of our nation. He is running against Christian values.

But your deception is by choice and your own doing. Trying to show you otherwise is like talking to a bill board. Your mind is made up and well set in concret..... there's no breaking through your deception. Good bye.
