How, exactly, could we tell if Patterson stopped running the state? What could be more scandalous than his lack of leadership? Patterson has a 23% approval rating. That means 2 million in New York City and four upstaters would notice he quit.

Original post: This past week, a rumor emerged that the New York Times is working on a huge bombshell with plans to "Spitzerize" New York governor David Paterson.
