Will Obama finally abandon his core supporters and send our military in to save the Christian's in Iraq? We all know how much he hates our country getting involved trying to save people from tyrants and radicals. Now we see the world on fire while the USA, under commander and chief Barack Obama, sits it out on the sidelines. Will he let these people die for the sake of his political agenda?

    What say you??

What is ironic is, if he does go in and save them, his left wing base will hate him for it, but his pole numbers among Americans will jump about ten points.

It looks like Obama just did that. And much of the liberal base is quite pro-intervention-after all many Democratic Senators voted for the Iraq War while this is not even a full-scale invasion only a handful of airstrikes.

I was listening to MSNBC right after to see their response and they were clinging to the "he said no boots on the ground" as a reason to save face. But we'll see if that holds up. I don't know how they are going to stop this evil without boots on the ground.

Obama's base seems to be the radical left. He has double-crossed everyone else in the world.

Obama has already abandoned his senses. But then Obama always has had more dollars than cents.

    Wait?

I thought the church should be preaching salvation and not be involved in anything political! Isn't this a political request or statement on your behalf?

Oh, how silly of me to even think I'd get an honest answer. But, I tried!

The silly thing is that you actions show that you may be in need of some help.

Proof yet again how it's highly unlikely that people who denigrate The President and his administration about everything including the kitchen sink and what color his poop should be ain't really praying for him.

NO! He is using a feather when he should be using "Shock and Awe" against this terrorist group. They are supposedly beheading children; but then that is what abortionists do in this country in late term abortions; particularly since the ban on partial birth abortions.

I just read where the POTUS authorized air strikes and air drops in Iraq. My mind may change as I learn more, but right now it seems he's finally doing something I can praise him for.

I do NOT want another war. But I don't think we should sit back and do nothing. There has to be some middle road that we can take somewhere.

Edited to add: I agree with Retired General McAffrey's statement - "If you're going to use military power, you have to write down your objective and then use decisive force to achieve your objective." If it does come to war (Lord willing it won't), then we need to have a clear objective, use all the force necessary to achieve that objective in a timely manner, and then leave. We definitely don't need another decade long campaign of everyong wondering why we're still in a country.

This may spark a separate topic, but that's what was wrong (IMO) in Iraq. We went in, we didn't aggressively neutralize the opposition, meaning we had to stay there to keep what is happening now from happening.

On the other hand, the Middle East historically will always be at war. It seems that no matter the amount of intervention, as soon as we leave it starts up again. Now that we are arming the Kurds to help fight ISIS, I would not be surprised if in ten years we are fighting the Kurds. History has a way of repeating itself. Just look at the Mujahadeen. Remember the movie Rambo (2 or 3)? While a Hollywood production, he was fighting alongside the Mujahadeen. That's who we were helping at the time.

I would not want to see one more American killed fighting in the Middle East, or anywhere else for that matter. I am convinced that Islam is a religion of death and ISIS is a manifestation of that.

That being said, someone is funding ISIS, I suspect the same people who funded Bin Laden; people made rich through selling oil to the west. That funding must be cut off or we will have another 9/11 in my opinion.

Obama could have stopped ISIS months ago but would not. Now they are, according to people who should know, a disciplined Army. Taking pot shots at them is counter productive. If we are going to hit them then something like "Shock and Awe" is appropriate.

I am afraid that if this country keeps "shuffling its feet" Israel will drop a "nuc" or two on Iran and then no one knows what will happen!

Until we tap into our own natural resources, that funding will not and can not be cut off. We rely too heavily on that oil, and that cutting would likely hurt us worse than ISIS. Not in the short run probably, but definitely in the long run. Of course, the best case scenario is to tap into our own resources so that we are no longer dependent on imports.

The waiting to stop ISIS is a double edged sword, IMO. The longer we go without doing anything, the more people will realize the justification of our last incursion into Iraq. Of course, some will tout that we were the cause of this current problem, in which case they'd be partially right. But if we hadn't stepped in, instead of ISIS, it would (and was) Saddam doing the same thing.

As I said before, historically, there will always be war in the Middle East. I think our best bet would be to implement a policy of conditional non-intervention. As in we do not intervene until something causes us to have to, such as a possible threat to America, or humanitarian aid on a large scale such as the current thousands trapped on the mountain.

As America, we seem to have a self imposed responsibility to save the world. While I am all for that if we can, we can't. We can't afford it. We have to take care of ourselves first, so that we can actually help out if needed. We need to be more introspective and fix ourselves, then we can focus on the world. It's similar to the mote/beam analogy of the Bible, only applied to ethics and economy.

We know there will always be war there. The only way to assure there won't be would be a totalitarian take over and implementation of a satellite state. This goes against what we collectively stand for in America, as well as what I personally believe. We'd basically be substituting ISIS with a totalitarian dictatorship made up of Americans.

It's a sticky situation no matter which way you lean. IMO, as I said, our best strategy would be to let them hash it out themselves unless and until it becomes a situation that we can no longer remain outside of.

I am perfectly willing to let them hash it out themselves. It may be that eventually the Sunni and Shia will begin killing each other off!

And maybe we should have just left Hitler and Europe hash it out??

Children being beheaded, woman raped, men hung. YOUR Christian brothers and sisters tortured and murdered and we should just let them hash it out???

Maybe Obama has finally taken his head out of the golf hole long enough to realize there is evil in the world that must be confronted and kept at bay.

Democrats have a history of not honoring treaties with, and obligations to, countries whose military we train and arm.

Since Obama , in particular , is an islamic terrorist sympathizer, I believe he will let Iraq fall into disarray and become another training ground for terrorists. Then some other president in the future will have to exterminate the vermin Obama leaves in charge. But not until after they kill a few million people and God only knows how many American civilians.
