I believe the Jews will build a new temple in Jerusalem. They have the materials gathered; last year they consecrated an altar to be used in it, & they've been breeding animals such as red heifers to be used in temple rites. The only thing holding them back is timing. They don't want to start WW3.

And a new temple is necessary for the beast/antichrist to commit the "abomination of desolation" in, It was NOT done in the old temple before it was destroyed. And it WILL occur; that's a prophecy from Jesus Himself.

And what will the AOD be? The beast will enter the temple, accompanied by his sidekick the false prophet, set up a statue of himself in it, which the FP will supernaturally make speak, and declare himself God. That type was done by Antiochus Epiphanes in the 160s BC when he entered the temple, set up a statue of Zeus in it, & sacrificed a pig on the altar. Differences will be that the beast, who won't recognize any other god, will set up a statue of himself, rather than anything recognized as a god, & the FP, by Satan's power, will make that statue speak. I don't believe he will offer any animal on the altar, as he will recognize only himself as God, but he will definitely end the Jewish sacrifices on it.

    YOUR opinions, please ?

"Will the Jews build a new temple in Jerusalem?"

    Nope.

"We have begun by stating that the key to prophetic understanding of the Old Testament promises lies in the epistle to the Galatians, an epistle specially written to defend the Church against all Judaizing errors and interpretations. The Galatian Church was the most Gentile of all the Churches of the New Testament as the name suggests. The inhabitants of that province in Asia Minor were a segment of the great Gaelic-Gaulic-Celtic race from which the English-speaking peoples take most of their blood. It is sad to see that the Judaic-dispensational heresy has found only too congenial ground in this race, as it did in their Asiatic brethren in the days of Paul the apostle. It seems that our race is peculiarly prone to casting away its great privileges and placing its mind in pawn to Judaistic doctrines. “O foolish Galatians! Who hath bewitched you?” (Gal. 3:1). In Paul’s day men came from Judea to Galatia teaching that God had set aside neither the Jewish nation nor Jewish privilege, and unless the Gentiles became as Jews they could not be saved. They even insisted that Gentiles become circumcised as Jews, and against this Paul thundered — “I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect to you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace” (Gal. 5:3-4).

It is useless for our friends to tell us that this is not their error, for their interpretations require that in their so-called millennial age Gentiles must be circumcised according to the laws of Ezekiel’s “temple.” Hence our Saviour Christ, supposedly reigning in person in Jerusalem, must preside over the subversion of His own Gospel, the undoing of His work of redemption on the Cross and the dismantling of that Kingdom of grace and truth which was the sole purpose of His coming into the world. In other words, the “Second Coming” according to the dispensational scheme will undo the whole purpose of the First Coming, and the Law will supplant the Gospel. Those who reject the true spiritual interpretation of Ezekiel 44:6-9 much teach that “the stranger” (that is, the Gentile) is to be excluded from God’s sanctuary unless he is circumcised. This passage occurs in that portion of Ezekiel in which the New Testament temple is described but which our friends take to mean an actual temple restoration in Jerusalem during the so-called millennial reign of Christ on earth. As they insist that Ezekiel’s temple is to literally constructed they cannot escape the conclusion that circumcision is to be re-established in their millennium, on a far more extensive scale than ever before; Gentiles must be circumcised as well as Jews if they are to have access to Divine worship. And who is now the heretic — we who plead for a spiritual and Gospel interpretation of prophecy, or our friends, who re-establish circumcision and temple and sacrifice and Levitical priesthood, abolish the Church and the Gospel and put Moses in the place of Christ?

If they build a temple, it will be to Antichrist.
The Mosaic covenant is finished. The temple sacrifices are done away with.

    Yes, they will.
All they need is a 7 year covenant of peace in the Middle East which will last for 3.5 years until Anti-Christ commits the abomination of desolation...then will be tribulation such as has never been seen on earth before.

But before that, all their preparations will come to pass and they will re-institute the animal sacrifices...
in vain, of course, since the blood of bulls and goats could never take away sin, and the Lord rent the veil of the second temple in two to signify the end of the first covenant.

    It is very close, IMO.

    hot off the press;
Third Temple - The Apocalypse and Daniel
The “red heifer” that has recently been born and certified “unblemished” is the tenth one, and the first red heifer since the destruction of the temple in AD 70. This is a powerful sign for “third temple fanatics” as rebuilding the third temple is closely linked with the appearance of the Messiah and the third temple cannot be built unless there is a way to cleanse the priesthood. That is why they require the Red Heifer.

    Daniel 11.31
31."And forces from him will arise, desecrate the Sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice, and they will set up the abomination of desolation."

    Matthew 24.15
15."Therefore, when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the Holy Place, let the reader understand,"

    (Daniel 8.11, 9.27, 11.31, 12.11) (Matthew 24.15) (Mark 13.14) (Luke 21.20)

Another Temple will be certainly build according to the references above, and sacrifices and offerings will be conducted according to the Law of Moses, no questions about it.

But and this Temple will be destroyed during coming of Antichrist and Armageddon, and of course after that no Temple will be build never again, because after all calamities of Armageddon, during peace and restoration of Israel and Jerusalem, the new Heavenly Temple will descend from Heaven.

This Heavenly Temple will be never destroyed, it will be for eternity, because GOD and His Son Themselves will be the Holy Temple of Jerusalem forever.

    Yes. Quite soon too

i recognize the sacrifices will only accomplish the killing of animals … but it will be done.

just before ac breaks the confirmed covenant the triune God enters that place. EZ 43

The high priest will see the nail scarred hands and that is how he (they) will know AC is NOT God.

A Third Temple is necessary for the Futurist view, but there is no Biblical support for this view. If you have the time (and the inclination), I suggest reading through this article by Gary DeMar - Does the Bible Teach that the Temple Will be Rebuilt? - The American Vision.

I've copied a few of the main points below.
There is no need for a temple or animal sacrifice. Those days are long gone. Jesus was that final sacrifice, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. There is no need for an altar or a temple or the Aaronic priesthood. Jesus fulfills all of these.
Jesus speaks of the destruction of the Temple (which happened in AD 70), but never of its reconstruction.

Since Daniel was written after Solomon’s temple had been destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC (2 Kings 25:8–9; Dan. 1:1–2) and before the second temple had been built by the returning exiles (Ezra 6:13–15), it stands to reason that the “sanctuary” whose “end will come with a flood” (Dan. 9:26) must refer to the second temple that had not been built at the time the prophecy was given. It was this post-exile rebuilt temple that was desecrated by Antiochus Epiphanes around 170 BC but not destroyed. After a period of misuse and disuse, Herod the Great restored and enlarged this second temple, a project that started around 20 BC and was completed just a few years before it was destroyed in AD 70 by the Romans, just as Jesus had predicted.

Those looking for a literal temple will fight to the death saying any form of sabbath has been done away now.
Yet we are clearly told that a sabbath is in effect, as well as new moon festivals, and animal sin offerings?

    Luke has it this way

20 But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand. Lu 21

    ...all fulfilled long long ago:

3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? .....
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. Mt 24

4 Tell us, when shall these things be? ....
30 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. Mk 13

7 And they asked him, saying, Teacher, when therefore shall these things be?......
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished. Lu 21

"This generation" is the very same generation He prophesied against only a few hours earlier:

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. Mt 23

I dont think so the period in these passages. He had just referenced Daniel and the days of Noah.

Daniel said he didnt savvy. Gabriel said “no worries, understanding will be given in the end”

if the end has already passed where are we now?

I understand “that generation” is the one when Israel is reborn. That was 1947.

we’ll all know pretty soon methinks. I have had a steep learning curve but its not as steep as it will be for some.

'The end' was the end of the old covenant 'age' consummated at the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple that Herod built in 70 AD. The Sinai Covenant ministration of death is done, gone forever. We are now in the New Covenant ministration of the Spirit of which there will be no end. It is the Everlasting Covenant.

At the finished work of Christ on the cross. The Temple ceased being the "temple of God." And at Pentecost the believers became the temple of God. So I find it interesting that, so I understand, "temple of God" in 2 Thessalonians 2:4, would be referring to the rebuilt temple.
