    Oh... I thought Unbreakable, Sixth Sense and Signs were MUCH better.

    I really liked Sixth Sense. It caught me off guard with the ending. I usually can figure out where things are headed and I hate that!

    When I see a movie that has a twist that I never saw coming...that is entertaining.

    Unbreakable was very good. Signs, too.

    I haven't seen Village.

    As for "R" rated movies, yes I have seen a few and there are some that I know just by watching the advertisments that I won't.

    There are even some that I would really like to see, but I know by the actors and/or the directors that the graphic language or gratuitious sex/nudity will bother me too much, so I just abstain from them.

    I guess I don't abstain from the simply because of the rating.

    A rating is a guide. Use common sense. There are plenty of PG and PG-13 movies that I wouldn't cross the street to spit on let alone watch.

    By the same token, movies like Schindler's List and Patriot were movies I watched more than once.

    We dont buy many movies, but I have had Direct TV w/TIVO for the past couple of years. I now no longer rent movies from bolckbuster - I wait till they come out on pay per view and save them on the TIVO. For Christmas I splurged and bought a combination VCR/DVD recorder (the cost is not much different than what I paid for my first VCR years ago), and now I can save the movies I pay per view onto DVD and watch them whenever I want to without taking up space in the TIVO! the recording quality is excellent - but you dont get any behind the scenes info. I am also in the process of converting all of our home Videos to DVD.

    Of course not, but not because some Hollyweird judge of content says it is unsuitable for children. Hollyweird hates Christ. Their standards are not our standards. That is a given. If we mix the world's standards with those of the Bible, as Rick Warren, Promise Keepers, etc. do, then we accomodate the world with bending Scripture. And that doesn't fly.

    I haven't been to a movie since around 1980 to see Orsen Welles' 'The Late Great Planet Earth'. I don't miss it. I would rather play with my kids and love my family instead of spending $50 on tickets, overpriced popcorn and lines around people dressed like they live reprobation.
