Anyone with a born-again soul is qualified to minister in a general sense, but only those who meet scriptural qualifications are qualified to hold the offices of the church. Just because there are men who either misuse or bring repraoch on the church through the holding of an office does not negate the validity of the offices or the scripture that gives us those offices and qualifications.

Being new here, I do not wish to give the wrong impression - I am not trying to cause strife. But could you please be so kind as to give examples of people who have "killed and repressed" and are "haters" regarding this issue?

What church do you attend and where is it, if you don't mind?

Would you mind giving a little clarification of that statement? I'm not sure I get what you're trying to say, and the basis for it.

Thanks
</font>
Genesis 3:1-6 shows that she Knew What God had truly said but listened to Satan instead. Alot of todays so called preachers preach out of the Bible but are not listening what God has truly said in his inerrant Word AV 1611.

I sent this to the mods a few days ago, but nothing has been done.

Here is where SuperBaptist has his photo up. As it's new, fits his profile, and there's only one person there right now, the only logical conclusion is that he is Bryan Hall.
http://falsepretender.blogspot.com/
Simple enough...follow the link from his photo to the site it's hosted on by Bryan Hall, to Bryan Hall's other sites.
Baptists...America's very own taliban.
It's under the "false pretender" section, where he speaks of how fun it is to troll around until he's banned.

So effectively, he thinks he is noble when he comes in and misrepresents himself to show up us bigots. [IMG]

You know who dishonors the Baptist Church, those haters, who in the name of Christ, kill and repress. </font>
Really? Who have I killed?

Demonstrate that I have "repressed" anyone. Do I tell people the truth like the "50 something" pastor you deride (not face to face interestingly) on the site Gina linked to? Yes.

If someone is standing in front of a speeding bus... the most unloving thing you can do is affirm them. The most loving thing you can do is tell them the consequences for what they are doing... even if they really like and are comfortable with what they are doing.

Interesting enough, I had a cousin from Sylva, NC that attended UNC in the late 70's/early 80's. While there, this pastor's son discovered that he was "homosexual". He contracted HIV before the end of the 80's. He and a group of "friends" got it about the same time. The rest died within a few years. He had a stroke about two years ago and died in the hospital a few days later.

Liberal ideas and someone "affirming" his "sexual" preference were very costly. His death broke the hearts of many of us "bigots"... who by the way refused to affirm/accept his behavior but still loved him in the hopes that he would repent.

You know the interesting thing is that you are unconvicted by your behavior. The site GinaL linked to demonstrates that you are a deceiver having been in a Baptist church once in 20 years. You aren't a Baptist in beliefs, practices, or even association.

You've lied... and would sit in judgment over those who love the truth...

Only God qualifies ministers... not you.
Proof? Didn't think so.

[IMG] Good detective work, Gina.

I blocked this guy from PM pretty fast--he reminds me of a kid I knew long ago who really needed attention and used to lie constantly to get it.

Here's a tip: If you're going to go around saying you have a doctorate in Philosophy and expect people to believe you, it helps to know who Nietsche is and that "God is dead" is his quote.

Am I the only one who finds it scary this guy is teaching Critical Thinking?

Oh, and this is the reason why my real name appears nowhere on the internet, I don't give out much personal information, and I have a separate Photobucket account for each site I post pictures at.

Thank you... It is actually pretty easy if you don't go out of your way to make God's Word conform to popular philosophy but rather let the words say what they say then build your beliefs around them.

In the future, perhaps you should come to me and let me tell you what you think. :D

Seriously though, I have made no claims to infallibility or anything like what you snide comments suggest. I do have confidence however when I base my views on the actual text of scripture and see no sound biblical response to them.
Exactly what this means or where it comes from... I really don't know.

My sacrifices for this country? I served in the Reserves for 7 years and would have willingly obeyed my civilian commanders. I have consistently contributed to the wealth of our nation and its tax coiffures. I do the best I can to live an honest, God honoring life, to love my neighbor, to help those in need that God puts in my path, to support my community and local school, and to raise godly children.

Precisely what you want or expect eludes me.

Better yet SaturnNeptune, perhaps I should come to you when I have questions rather than the Bible says... If the plain text differs from your opinions then surely I need to be set back on the right path....

Scott,
Your post has lost me. I said your words were 100% correct. We all appreciate your weekends at the armory.

Maybe I am wrong but you seem to be speaking facetiously.

I don't know how I might have offended you but am interested in knowing if you'll just do the Christian thing and tell me.

This sounds like you are being a smart aleck.

I never claimed it was a sacrifice on par with that of my father who fought in Korea or my uncle who fought in WWII or my cousin who fought in Vietnam. Neither am I ashamed of the time and effort and, yes, sacrifice we made as Reservists. FTR, I worked either 3rd shift or a swing shift for most of the time I was in. So my Sunday would start at 4:30 and not end until about 9:00 AM Monday morning when I finally got to bed.

I was a company level officer which basically meant you were paid for two days but might have to work several hours during the month with no pay.

I did it because I cared and believed it was a worthy thing to do. Mock all you want- It says more about you than me.

C4K,

How are you brother!? Long time gone. Glad to be back. Matthew is doing well, I am staying very busy...

Gina,

Looks like SuperBaptist is history here...

IveyL

What church? He tells you his church divorced the SBC and that he feels like the ABC is a good fit in his last post! ABC has no problem with a woman pastor and a homosexual associate pastor (Anne Hall and Tim Phillips at University Baptist in Seattle, WA). They voted 161 to 92 to allow the church to remain in the American Baptist Churches organization. Big surprise! If we can pick and choose what parts of the Bible to believe and throw out what Paul wrote, that is just a baby step to get to where they are...

To this issue of women in ministry:

Paul specifically forbids women from teaching the Word of God to men, period, exclamation point. You can argue about equality all you want, but the Word is very clear – “I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence” (1Tim 2:12). Can women teach the Word in church, absolutely as long as there are no men present!!! I get ticked about women who teach men, supposedly ministering under the authority of a male pastor who grants them authority to teach. Who does ANY PASTOR think he is, giving a woman authority to do that which God’s Word clearly forbids!!!

“If any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed” (2Thes 3:14). They may wear the label “Baptist” but they do not understand the meaning of the term!

“This witness is true. Wherefore REBUKE THEM SHARPLY, that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:13). Anathema Maranatha!!!

Interesting thread.

Am I the only one who finds it scary this guy is teaching Critical Thinking?

Oh, and this is the reason why my real name appears nowhere on the internet, I don't give out much personal information, and I have a separate Photobucket account for each site I post pictures at.

I think he was critical of thinking...

As far as real name and such, I was 'outed' by Joe Meert a number of years ago. I was furious at the time (I was a moderator at CARM then and trying to stay relatively unknown). Now I just figure "what the bananas" and let it go. People know who I am, what I look like, who I am married to, the names of my kids, how old I am -- in short, everything my kids used to tell the neighbors anyway!

As far as women teaching go, when Barry gives his lectures or does Bible studies, he asks me to be up there with him. Why? Because I taught for almost 30 years and I find it easier to help people understand some of what he is saying than he does. He does the thinking and putting together and I do the 'interpreting' -- and both of us are teaching using the gifts God gave us.

However neither of us has any authority at all over anyone we are talking to!

No need to shout, brother. Your being "ticked off" (as you say) at women is very clear.

rjprince,

I would agree with you to an extent. Unfortunately, we have to look at many women whom the Lord used in the Bible.

The woman at the well went into the city and preached Christ to all in the city.
The women at the tomb were told to preach Christ's resurrection by an angel of God.
Priscilla and Aquila taught.
Phoebe taught.
Phillip's four daughters propheside.
Anna, the prophetess was in the temple. And there she blessed the Lord.

If an angel told the women to proclaim the risen Savior to the men assembled, then by your logic, that angel was doing something that God expressly forbid.

I believe when Paul said 'I suffer not a woman to teach...' that he was speaking of his own personal preferences. That he would rather sit under a man's teaching.

I notice all the other women were not rebuked for sharing the Gospel.
