Hidden below a layer of wallpaper, drywall mud and paint was a symbol you wouldn’t expect to find in a Catholic church — the Star of David
the Rev. Justin Kizewski....showed off the ceiling above the altar, where blue and yellow triangles come together to form the Star of David. “It’s very interesting to see what was underneath (the wallpaper, mud and paint), try to figure out the dates and what was communicated by the art.”
no one seems to know why the Star of David...was painted on the ceiling above the altar....“For the time being, we will just leave it as is,” Kizewski said....Officials at the Diocese of La Crosse couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.
