The Scrivener 1894 edition which is a collation/compilation of the Stephanus/Erasmus/Beza aligned with the English text of the AV1769.

That would be the Hebrew Masora (ben Chayyim) and the above mentioned Greek TR.

We've had some excellent teachers. I guess you weren’t around when we had The KJVO “invasion” including “hit and runs” such as “YOU GUYS ARE ALL GOING TO HELL!!!” and “drive-bys” of shouting, ranting, raving, temper tantrums, insults, innuendo and intimidation. One individual even went postal and filled several full pages of "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA".

When people come from afar and tell us that our Bibles from whence we received the Gospel and were saved which we use in our devotion and worship are “satanic” they shouldn’t expect to be treated with kindness.

That reaction of unkindness is probably not the best response scripturally but we are after all human and subject to the provocation of the flesh when the flesh comes to us with it’s own form of hatred calling our bibles “satanic counterfeits”.

You are not one of the above jim and personally I would say you are welcome here any day any time.

Some KJVO like to amend their posts with Christian forms of XOXOXOXO, then immediately proceed to plunge daggers in our collective back.

My apologies to you and all other KJVO who truly and sicerely obey the commandment to "love one another". You are "collateral damage" (for lack of a better term) in our Old Covenant attempt to deal with these individuals on an "eye for an eye" basis.

As far as I am concerned they are welcome here to present their point of view but they will be dealt with in the manner of their own presentation since this seems the only way to minimize these invasions of hatred.

Its our venom? I didn't call you Bill Clinton implying that you were an immoral liar without even knowing you. I believe you are wrong on this issue and that the KJVO error stands as a clear threat to biblical fundamentalism in Baptist churches.

In fact, you can go back through all of my posts in this forum and you will not find where I have questioned someone's salvation or called them names based on this issue. I am pretty confident that you can't find even where I have questioned someone's general spiritual discernment based on this one issue.

You said "debate is one thing". Please show where I have engaged in the "other thing". Is it not proper in debate to question your opponents' statements?

I've think I've met theses people! They are such an embarassment to those of us who love our Bible. Same ones who won't let me preach because I wear wire frame glasses, western boots, beard and I most certainly cannot bring 'devil guitar' into their glorious presence. I am truly sorry you all had to go through that. Do you really think we would be doing you a favor by letting you slide by when we disagree with you?

Better is open rebuke than love that is concealed.

Thank you HankD for the encouraging words. You don't mind if I preach from my KJB though, do you? Don't worry, when I preach I don't go into KJVO rhetoric(anymore, used to be manipulated), just the Lord Jesus Christ. Oops! Don't tell the above metioned people!

Not at all! It is my primary bring-to-church Bible. I also have a First Edition AV1611 facsimile (Roman font) but I have also been known to bring my NKJV and NASB to church also.

Dogsbody, I've been told because my hair is longer (because of an inner ear disease that doesn't allow me to get my hair cut without severe bouts of vertigo, vomiting, etc) I have a beard and moustache and don't always use the KJV in preaching, I wouldn't be allowed behind the pulpit of many of my friends, who are pastors, both IFB and SBC, because I am "backslidden". This is far from the truth but, I just look upon it as their ignorance and loss and not my own. You'd probably be welcomed to preach at a church if I was pastor.

    AVL1984,
That's interesting about your hair. When I was young I had bad headaches and my doctor recomended cutting my long hair. Oh, how uncool, but I did and the headaches went away! The pastor of a church I used to attend required all preachers to be clean shaven except his pet who had to wear a mustache for his allergies. Hey, I had allergies, and poor eyesight!
    Thanks for the encouragment!

I would like to publicly apologize to Jim and all other readers for my carelessness in this exchange.

Jim was offended that I insenuated that he was ignorant or didn't know this.

No matter what justification might be given, I should not have been so callous about his feelings as to have unfairly implied that he is ignorant of English. It was an unnecessary, antagonistic diversion.

    Again, I apologize.

It looks like this little thread has run its course, and being on page 5 it will be closed by 5.00 this afternoon EST.

    Thank you Scott.

I also retract my comments, intended in jest (The Clinton thing), nevertheless, un-christian.

    In His service;

Thanks Hank. You are truly a gracious man.

BTW; I am also not so fond of fellers who let their flesh get in the way of godliness. Myself included. [IMG]
