Wow...44% would rather have Bush back!

Amazing. Maybe people are finally figuring out it was stupid to elect a Community Organizer (even if some thought him the "messiah") to run our country.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1209/Bush_closes_the_gap.html

the poll results: 50% would rather have Obama than Bush; 44% would rather have Bush than Obama.

One of the comments summed it up well:

Let's see.... Obama's deficit is 3-4 times that of Bush's; Obama's unemployment rate is many points higher than Bush's; Bush did not travel the world blaming the USA and kissing the ring of tyrants; Bush did not generally raise taxes, and everyone knows Obama is aching to levy massive new taxes; Bush did not adopt the silly notion that windmills can replace nuclear plants and oil; Bush did not try to take Americans' health care decisions from them, while Obama can't wait to have the government decide who gets what treatment; and Bush could make a decision about national defense without taking four months and acting like Hamlet in doing so. I am not surprised at these numbers. Indeed, I will be surprised if another year of Obama won't make most Americans positively long for a return of Bush-Cheney.

I'm not a big Bush fan...but you know you're horrible when less than a year in, people are pining for your unpopular predecessor...

I'm not shocked at all by this. Of course the McCain/Palin voters would rather have Bush than Obama. The connies will try to spin this to mean Obama is in trouble, but simple logic shows that's not true.

At this point I think Bill Clinton is looking pretty good. :tonofbricks:

Seriously, the Democrats AND Republicans are going to spend us right into the dark hole of history. If the American people don't soon wake up we are going to find ourselves too far gone to change things.

Only 44%. With the confirmed Obama haters and the GOP followers this seems a very small number to me. That means if the election were now 56% would vote for Obama. That would be a huge landslide in any presidential election.

No, it doesn't mean that. If you read this and read it as "56% would vote for Obama", then you need to read it again.

I hate to break it to you - George Bush didn't run in the last election.

This poll tells you nothing about how people would vote if the election were held again.

Jimmy Carter has got to be doing cartwheels because now, thanks to Oba-mao, he's no longer the biggest buffoon ever to be president.

My, what stunning (il)logic you have.

Keep in mind...if you disagree with Obama's policies, according to CTB, you are either a "confirmed Obama hater" (that is the charge that usually precedes "racist") or a GOP myrmidon. We all know it's not possible to go against the messiah and be right about anything.

And you might want to read the OP again and get your numbers straight.

In all fairness, crabby's logic and reading comprehension are probably as good as any other supporter of "the one".

No, if 44% voted for bush, it does not mean 56% would vote for obama, Ken and others like him would not be voting for obama just because they are not part of the 44%
