Young Republican leaders say GOP outreach to young, minority voters must be more than

I do not believe the old boys/girls will listen. I have said before, for the political health of the country we need two viable parties. The good old boys and girls have been killing the GOP. If they do not change their ways they will succeed. That will harm the country greatly.

Republicans hoping to reach beyond the party’s white, aging core must do more than retool campaign strategy and tactics, say young GOP leaders pressing elected officials to offer concrete policies to counter Democratic initiatives.

“It’s very easy to just say no, and there are times where it’s appropriate to say no,” said Jason Weingartner of New York, the newly elected chairman of the Young Republican National Federation. “But there are times where you need to lead and present ideas on the issues of the day.”

I talk with a man that is heavy into the OR Rep. party and he is always excited about the new and improved ways they are finding to reach and bring in new people.

I have told him for years that the Rep. party needs to determine what its values are and stick to them for more than five minutes, let people know where they REALLY stand and see what happens instead of constantly concentrating on winning.

Die or grow, let it be on values not on concepts, programs and shenanigans. Kind of what the church ought to do too but that is another thread.

I find it amusing the media continues to publish reports about how "out of touch" the GOP is with "the issues" while ignoring polls that indicate it is the media that is out of touch with what people really think.

For example, the media keeps publishing or reporting stories about how "awful" voter ID laws are, but 83% of the people favor them. The media keeps publishing or reporting stories about how "unfair" our immigration policies and laws are, but the public wants tighter borders and strict enforcement. The media keep publishing or reporting how "fiscally irresponsible" the Republicans are, but the public wants Obamacare and other wasteful socialist-style programs either curbed or repealed.

So who's really out of touch here? And how out of touch are those of us here who think the GOP is out of touch? No offense intended.
