How do your church's children's and youth leaders connect with the local schools, if they do?

The week before the students started we made brownies and took them to each school in the county. This was a church wide effort. We were able to meet with the principals. We told them we were praying for them in this new school year and if there's anything we can do, let us know. They were very thankful. In the past we've been able to help out with some student needs. One year we hosted a dinner for the football team.

My wife and I have signed up to work with the band boosters this year, even though we don't have any kids in school. They welcomed our help. We will be helping out with the concession stand when needed. We are also on the chaperone list. We have [5] kids from our church in the band. The preacher and his wife are helping as well.
